My greatest regret with Remnant 2 is that all the good weapons are boring and all the cool weird weapons suck ass. Anguish? The cool charge-shot self-damage-shotgun portion of it is pointless and the boring as fuck generic SMG mod mode is godlike. Nebula? Hideous fart gun that feels like shit to actually shoot. It is *criminal* that Polygun, Thorn, Arbalests, etc that do Weird Shit are just so bad. There really need to be some buffs at some point... and some ranged/mod double dips so that ranged builds have literally *any* use for mod generation beyond the occasional Song of Eafir.

Before seeing the full list, I'd personally only put 3 weapons in S-tier: Anguish, Nebula, and Monolith. Anguish is just ridiculous and plays like every gun build but better, and Nebula and Monolith are the best support weapons in the game for so many builds. Overall, I think that pure gun builds just don't feel very strong when things like Anguish or mod/skill spam builds can achieve such high DPS without needing to aim, reload, think about ammo, etc. IMO crit and weakspot trinkets need maybe 25-50% of what they lost in the nerf back, or firearms might need a slight damage bump across the board because it just feels wrong that using guns as your primary source of damage is probably the least effective playstyle at the moment.

I do keep hoping those sweeping nerfs, like they said in the patchnotes, also were part of preparing for the overhauled shard system the "paragon" system they talked about

Bolt Driver is also bugged atm with ammo mods. It’s not scaling mod damage properly so when that gets fixed it’ll be even more lethal.

I believe sorrows mod counts as explosion. In an archon/summoner its mod is decent. Havent used it since 2 patches ago however so it could've changed.

I have been using the lever action over the huntsmaster, even on apocalypse, but it feels like it misses the followup shot way too often on normal mobs, no idea if it's a skill issue, weapon issue or if it's the console port aiming in this game being a tiny bit off compared to other games i play.

Arbalist benefits from top heavy And can bounce to hit bosses a couple of times now. Great at clearing adds too.

I'm curious if some of the D tier stuff could still work, as in it will get you through certain difficulties just not as efficiently as the S tiers? Some of them I hope get some love. The corrupted cube gun for instance is a really unique fun type of gun that I still enjoy using for the fun reason alone. Its a PvE game at the end of the day, I hope nerfs are light and buffs are plentiful.

Corrupted Nebula can be built around so S Tier xD

It has been pretty obvious since release that my playstyle is a bit different than both of yours. For the most part however, there isn't much I disagree with. Maybe minor changes here and there but with the experience comes solid points made on all accounts. A couple thoughts I had that feel notable: - Corrupted cube gun = trash, great call there, this as an idea will never work because it overheats in 2 seconds and the mod is pointless - Sorrow is actually amazing on a detonation trigger mod build as the loop from shots into the mod is very fluid and it not only deals solid damage but heals you significantly. Other than that it is useless, but that one build is incredible - Corrupted arbalest is amazing on a mod build. No not really mod spam, but the ability to explode off of tracking bullets is top notch. Paired with another duration based mod its not only very fun but powerful as well. - Arbalest you guys hit the nail on the head. Really good mod power, but the way you need to use it with marking leads to slower and worse gameplay overall. - Anguish is definitely busted. Odd that it went from being complete garbage to the best handgun for mod builds. - Monarch I think is the best gun in the game, just for usability sake, I mean tracking is really valuable, hard to not give that an S. - Corrupted savior I think is even worse than you guys placed it. The audacity to take a hardcore reward that then needs corrupted and nerf everything about it is nuts. - Savior I think it's reload is terrible and just a bow with a reload. Never resonated with that gun although the damage is great regardless. - Sparkfire actually might be S tier for me, since running it with maelstrom as the mutator is infinite mod regen. I mean it is so fast probably better than anything we have at the moment. -Polygun and thorn are gimmick weapons. Polygun especially just sucks and needs a major overall of its mechanic. Longer bar, no decrease when not firing, higher damage. It is a mess. And Thorn is super fun massive numbers that has terrible sustain. I HEAVILY agree with nerfing both the stackability of sandstorm and firestorm. For long time players we just get bored when those two things are all you can use as it buffs builds by probably 50% right now. No I don't think nerfs are good most often, but man the sandstorm is not fair at all to the game itself. At least firestorm damages you, the sandstorm is just free win button that can cover the entire screen. The main problem with the games current state is... why try any actual fun gun build when a single mod use is instantly regened, debuffs the enemy, can be stacked, and reaches across the entire screen. Nerfing crit wasn't even that bad really for the games health, but nerfing crit on guns, and then making it even easier to crit for skills and mod spam was a massive fumble that needs remedied asap. Fun discussion overall. Thought it was interesting for even a long time Remnant fan.

Corrupted merciless has some of the highest single target for the large weakspot bosses, and honestly does decent damage on everything else, and corrupted arb while not great single target on bosses with multiple hit boxes like OTK it absolutely outpreforms most other guns

I can’t put down the MP60. I know tech22 is superior now due to changes in spread, but it’s just my favorite. I love the MP7 in so many games and this gun just reminds me of it. Plus it at least has a little stagger where tech22 feels like a water pistol in that regard sometimes. Also if you had fire rate slotted in your fragments anyway (since fire rate is king right now), it can shred. Just my opinion.

To be honnest i agree with most ranked exept for corrupted rune pistol this handgun should be A tier to me at least cause the mod is pretty good overall,good magazine size,saled damages,it's clearly not to compare of the regular rune pistol, it's just i can rely and put it everywhere it's a pretty good versatile handgun.

I'm still doing over 5K per weakspot crit with the crescent moon with ankh of power, of all things! Double that using the mod. I think it's still A tier, but definitely not as good/easy as it used to be. I'm really not a fan of the lot of the relic fragment nerfs and spread reduction nerfs. Instead of playing this cat and mouse game, they should just put a cap on it to have the reticle be half an inch or somewhere around there and put spread reduction back to how it was so i don't keep investing more just to get back how it used to be or make it have diminishing returns.

Only have 400 hours but I would strongly disagree with placing corrupted arbalest in d tier. As it stands its the only mod/explosive primary with a self fueling duration. I was running it pre mod nerf as a primary for corrupted meridian/starshot and it survived without loss if DPS. Since it links mod damage with fire rate it scales with haste and rof and allows bandit exploitation. You arent going to get much over 2K with it in the driver seat but it has 100% uptime and is braindead self aiming and if you do have any boss with multiple hit locations it will overlap explosions and hit 4K.

U could put corrosive mutator instead of nebula and its the same thing. I dont get it? Yeah the mod is good but using it only for the corrisive doesnt make sense to me

Things I disagree with: Hellfire mod dot is amazing in fire dot ENC builds. Unfortunately Firestorm is objectively better (and I think Heatwave does too). Starshot obviously crushes them all but you can't loop it. Repeater Pistol isn't bad, but it has no niche. Same with Service Pistol. What build is ever running these? Even Western Classic can synergise with Outcast Ring single shot builds.

Advocating nerfs on weapons in a strictly PVE game is baffling to me. Most challenge players don’t use meta or S tier weapons to begin with if they are seeking said challenge. Additionally any form of balance is only temporary until the devs stop updating. When that occurs then whatever “balance” is present is permanent. Pro support for constant balance changes in a finite lifespan game that isn’t a live service establishes a dangerous mindset for the developers in over tinkering with items up until they push the last content pack then move onto another project stranding the game’s gear and weapons in whatever bastardized form they may be in at that moment. So advocating reduction in performance has lasting effects for literally every player. Please stop voting to nerf.
