For anyone wondering where there aren't any German shotguns, during WW1, Germany tried to get the use of shotguns in warfare made illegal, pertaining to the outright devastating effect they can have on a human target.

There's a difference between having unrealistic animations and the game being historically inaccurate. The designers obviously wants the game to look very realistic, given the impressive graphical fidelity but the animations make that feel fall apart. Also why do you feel the need to be so defensive about it? You sound very insecure.

I'd also recommend to revisit Star Wars Battlefront. They've added a lot of different weapons. Some of them actually have reload animations and they're all available even without the DLC in Solo mode.

I'm laughing at all the people who think they're weapon professionals. A lot of the mistakes in animation are due to game mechanics. It is impossible to make them 100% accurate and visually perfect.

When you pull the trigger on a gun, there are at least 5 different things happening. Pulling the trigger on a controller simply passes on the command to fire the bullet and begin the animation. The hammers don't strike first because the bullet travel animation is faster. In real life, there is a delay between the trigger pull and the bullet fire. This doesn't exist in games because developers don't implement all the engineering within the firing mechanism because it is just too complicated to make it practical. Similar to driving games when driving an automatic transmission car. The car will not shift into the next gear until it reaches maximum engine speed. However we all know real cars don't work that way, but developers aren't going to waste thousands of man hours developing a code that replicates the hundreds of variables that a real transmission would calculate. Also, it would require some sort of prediction of the intentions of the player, which is impossible because Devs can't read minds. It will also interfere with weapon balancing. If you animated weapons exactly the way they worked in reality, FPS's would be unplayable.

Cody Miller I can tell you that both Forza Horizon 1 and GTA V have normal(ish) transmission behaviours. If you have the gas at max, it will go to redline before shifting, most real cars will also do this. But, if you're going a reasonable speed and are a bit lighter on the gas, the car will shift earlier, like a real car would. And as far as making the hammer animated correctly, I understand issues with competitivity and balancing, but I just care about the slide/hammer animation interaction. If the bullet goes out instanlty, followed by the hammer moving, that's...okay, but I'm sick of seeing things like the hammer being pushed back by the slide only to come back to rest against it; and that's if the hammer ever even moves at all.
