wear blue remembers the sacrifice of Army SPC Lori Ann Piestewa on March 23, 2003. Lori is the first Native American woman serving in the Armed Forces to die on foreign soil. She was also the first woman to die in Iraq while in service to her country. Her sacrifice has inspired a legacy of movement and active remembrance for all women who died while serving their nation’s call to duty. She is remembered by her children, her mother, her family, her Hopi and Navajo Nations, her friends, her community, and all those who participate in the Piestewa Challenge.
Listen to her son, Brandon, remember her and share an inspirational message.
