This is super helpful content! As a mom of three, now exclusively pumping two babies in a row, pumping convenience is huge for me to be able to get my pumps in and keep up with my life and things I have to do. I struck a middle bargain and decided to get the wearable cups that connect to the Medela Freestyle or any Medela motor. I can pump on my way to drop off or pick up the kids from school and while I get dinner put together. The key for me was first nailing down my flange size and getting the inserts. Then, finding a pump that my body responded well to and induced multiple letdowns. After these things, I went for the cups. I find though that I must be careful with nipple placement in the flange. It is very easy to misalign and smash your nipple and not get very good output, then end up clogged the rest of the day. I do use my phone to check once I turn the pump on and after I let down to make sure milk is flowing into the cup and my nipple is getting enough movement in the flange. I have been watching Mercari for an Elvie pump because I have seen some posted that people got and didn’t use or use just a couple of times. For literally hundreds of dollars less, it could be worth it, but I have decided that my Medela freestyle with collection cups is good enough for me. I would love to see some portable pump reviews! Such as the Medela Freestyle/Swing and Spectra S9. As far as technique, I pump a little sooner with my Mother Pump (what I call my “Primary”😂) than I normally would after doing a portable pump. Right now I’m going about 2 1/2 hours between pumps, so I might pump about an hour and a half to two hours later from my portable session.

Please review the new Lansinoh Discreet Duo wearable! It is one of the few wearables provided by my insurance and I am hoping to get something like this style for baby #2. The only other pumps I've seen like this are from less reputable companies on Amazon.

Thank you for the video. It certainly is over whelming with the options we have. I had the traditional pump in style because my goal is to maximize the milk supply but it didn’t work for me. Now that I am closer to end of my maternity, worth the same goal of maximizing my milk supply I am inclined towards medela freestyle handsfree because of the costumer service. Any thoughts on the product vs other brands? PS it is going to be my primary pump

I LOVE your videos! Allison and Jessica, thank you, soo helpful!! I got the Spectra Gold for my last pregnancy in 2022 (based on your videos) and I love it! My 4th baby is due next month and I want a mobile pump as a backup for when I have to move around. I am debating between the Zomee Fit and the Willow Go. Insurance covers both and I get a strong milk supply. Do you suggest one over the other for me or are planning to make a video between those two? Thank you!

Further into this video now, I would also love to hear more about using spectra and Medela pumps interchangeably. I have the Medela pump in style and spectra S1. I started with Medela Pump in Style, then got my spectra S1. And the first few days of using spectra, I noticed much quicker emptying and more milk, output! A typical 38-40 ounce with Medela to 46 with spectra! But after a few days, my milk output started to decrease, and it was taking me longer to pump…. So I went back to my Medela and saw it come up again in a few days. Does this have to do with the different feel and training my body? I would love to hear a conversation about this!

So I just bought the new 3-in-1 pump from Legendairy Milk as a wearable option for when I go back to work. Super excited because it does have a one year warranty so that was a huge plus for me. I did splurge for the Willow 3.0 first but just can’t seem to make enough milk from it, which sucks, but I’m also very impatient and haven’t given my body enough time to get used to the different suction it has. I’m still working on that and found that what works best to get milk for me with it at this point is to breastfeed on one side and use the Willow on the other. But enough of that, just curious about what you thought about the new 3-in-1 Imani wearable pump! It’s the one that’s a wearable but also has the 3 motors and is also a wall pump. I did see a video you made about the Imani but was just curious if you had any other thoughts on it. Also, with my Willow 3.0, do you have any other tips or tricks for getting it to work better? Thanks so much.

*How often should I use a "wall pump" then a handsfree/wearable!? during one day😮 And breastfeeding (some). Baby 4 is on the way. I just don't know what to do this time! I did not have alot of milk with baby 3 and I had cloggedmilkdutsall the time + mastetitist(infectio), and needed a nose spray to get the milk flow bette/faster + antibiotics to get better (that made my milk even go away even more). -Katrina. Sorry in advance for this long read but theres a new wearable pump from Lansinoh called the Discreet Duo, and supposedly it is better than the first wearable pump that Lansinoh made. Anyway, there isnt(if not any at all) reviews on youtube about it, not from mamas and not from lactation specialists. My interest is peaked because this is one of the only wearable pumps(other than freemie) that you can get through insurance even medicaid without paying for an upgrade. The site says there are 4 modes, but doesnt really get into what those modes are and if there is a 2-phase mode like the first wearable they did. I already have a primary pump, so i am wanting to get a portable or wearable thru insurance. I was going to get the zomee 2 and either get a pumping bra or cut little nipple holes in a sports bra😅. So i can be handsfree to take care of my baby and 6 year old, but discreet duo stopped me in my tracks and im stuck yet again between 2 pumps. I am a cosmetologist and just thinking that i could be pumping when all the hair dryers are going(which is a constant) without anyone knowing, sounds amazing. But i am a scaredy cat and dont want to purchase without knowing as much as i can, i guess thats the risk of trying something thats brandspanking new on the market 😬 hope you guys can test one soon! 😅

What kind of inserts do you recommend for the z fit for elastic nipples? I have used the silicone 21mm inserts (from zomee) in the Z2 and the fit which has increased output. But didn't know if you had any recommendations?

Also, just looked into the Baby Buddha and thought I might also try that! I’m literally obsessed with breastfeeding and pumping and love trying new pumps! I have a Spectra and love it but just need a good wearable option now that works well. I know I could use the cups with the Baby Buddha, making it like a wearable/ portable option, which could also work for me. I use my Spectra on the highest setting (12) and was wondering if I’d be better off trying the BB because of its strong suction. I actually want that. Curious about if you think the Baby Buddha would be better than the Willow 3.0 or the LM 3-in-1 that I just got. Sorry, lots of questions!

To be honest, Anytime I see someone using a strong pump like the spectra on the highest settings it’s a bit of a red flange for me. There’s a high possibility that something else isn’t quite right with pumping. You also mentioned in another post that you have to use the willow on one side while you nurse in the other, so I’m hesitate to recommend any pump until you get that figured out :) if you want some help I’d be happy to chat with you! www.newlittlelifelessons.com/pumping-for-working-moms-application

I am exclusively pumping my almost 4 months old. I use the Spectra but struggle to get my morning pumps as consistently as I need to grow my supply because of work from home demands and being the primary caregiver of 2 children. I also have a 3 year old. The Elvie gives me almost no milk compared to 3-4 oz combined each pumping session from Spectra with pumping pals flanges. I have elastic nipples. I got the Spectra about 2 months pp after my Ameda Maya Joy started malfunctioning and my supply almost died up. I had better output with the momcozy S9 for about a month prior to 2 months pp but the battery died prematurely. I purchased the S12PRO but it was very painful and gave very little milk output. Any suggestions on a wearable to supplement morning pumps along with my spectra?

I’m so confused, because I’ve had a different experience. Not a good one.. but different . I have a low milk supply, did everything early on to bring it up, but I think mistakes were made that I couldn’t fix. One issue I had was slow let down, so sitting with my spectra , 15 mins, I’d maybe get a drop. 25 mins… barely anything. So I’d have to got another 60 mins to get a full feeding. Which, spectra is NOT convenient. I tried the momcozy V2, I got the same output, actually more on most days, and I wasn’t stuck to the couch. The flanges were easier to fit. Now, momcozy, I’ve already gone through 2! ThankGod I can afford it, but I’ve made sacrifices to do so. But this talk was so interesting. I hope if I get another breast feeding journey it will be different after all I’ve learned.

Elvie should be on the “no go list”. I bought an elvie stride from a medical supply store and when I received the pump I found that the hub did not have enough suction. I reached out to Elvie to see if they would honor their warranty and they denied my warranty, stating I didn’t purchase from an authorized retailer even though they checked that I had an authentic serial number. We were told by someone that we would get it replaced and then later were told that they would not, while insisting they were not not honoring their warranty when they clearly were. Terrible customer service and I’ll never buy anything from them. If they were based in the US I was planning on notifying the BBB.

If you haven’t thrown it out yet, you can still make it work! I upped my sports bra size from L to XXL (just enough to hold the Elvie cups in place with little to almost no compression) and was able to get almost the same output as my primary pump (Luna Motif). There are times when I use the Elvie Stride cups and attach it to my primary pump and it works way better this way! When I use this hack, I use my regular size bra, not the really big one. I hope this helps, spending a lot of money on a pump sucks when it doesn’t work.
