I find some things that Hattie says a bit disrespectful (these are things that I thought about now at this point, but if there are other opinions I would love to see it from another perspective). For example, when Jin says that he feels insecure, I think it is important as a couple to pay attention to that and give your partner security and not just say "yes, but I will decide if I stay with other guys or with you because I am a snack. ". I mean, I know that your partner should in no case control you or what you are wearing, but you also have to be empathetic with your partner's insecurity, especially if he is not being toxic or controlling, because being insecure in a relationship It is not the same as being toxic. Insecure people can become quite anxious in a relationship, and if you really love your partner and want to help, it is best to give him security. I am not saying you have to cover yourself completely to give him security, but sometimes, there are key phrases like "you are unique and at this moment I choose you before anyone else, I do not care who looks at me". I don't know, you also have to be emotionally responsible, that's my reflection lmao

There's multiple ways to express your confidence and independence that also considers your partners feelings. You can be reassuring while also setting hard boundaries when needed. The constant "I will decide" is a hard boundary that is constantly set. Which is ok but at dinner... this really did not seem appropriate. They were both there together, they both decided there to be there together, and it was supposed to be romantic... so it comes off strange. A soft boundary would have been more gentle, and considerate of his 'tell'. He was working out his insecurity at the table and was seeking help to push past it. Instead of correcting him, guiding him with the correct way of expressing himself while being loving was more appropriate. (Hence, soft boundery.) The "snack" jokes do seem harmless but while they are intended to be light-hearted, they are inconsiderate. True, they both have a right to feel uncomfortable, but, they both carry the same emotional responsibility towards one another; to embrace their discomforts, instead of running right through or past them. Example: It's ok for Jinn to feel uncomfortable with her appearance, his culture raised him to think different. His attitude: "*admit* It makes me uncomfortable, but I respect you and love you so I will look past my culture mindset and I will deal with it." Example: It's ok for Hatti to feel uncomfortable with Jinn's word usage/use of the possessive, her culture raised her to think of herself differently. Her attitude: "*awareness* I'll let you know when you are over-stepping but I need to respect your feelings too, so I will give you the reassurance you need in order to work past our cultural differences." They are both doing an excellent job, but (based on this video performance alone) Hatti should work a little more harder on her part, to be more gentle and aware of Jinns insecurities as he is putting a lot of effort in respecting her body and personal choices. Jinn just needs more soft (or aggressive) love guidance so he learns to express and reconcile his insecurity in a healthy, non-possesive manner. They both push each other a bit, so they probably need to sit down and talk about this in more depth... with an even deeper awareness and acceptance of each others feelings than they already have. So, to the people bashing one side or the other: realize they both need to work on expressing their needs better with one another. As all couples do. It is something only they know how to do, and something which I'm pretty sure they already know they need to do. It just shows work is never done in a relationship, it's hard work. Working on yourself and each other. These types of relationships with these kind of cultural differences need thrice that. Truly wish them the best 👌

I don’t understand the point of continuing on and saying “I will decide” to him, especially about their relationship. Shouldn’t that be a mutual agreement instead of Hattie making the decisions and saying SHE will decide? To me it doesn’t make much sense -if they’re living together and have been in a relationship together for a while -that means she has decided to be with him. Not deciding otherwise just because.
