I have the Badlands edition in 30-06. I recommend it to anyone that wants a simple well made hunting rifle. It's very fun to reload for.

I have one in. 300 Weatherby. Shoots sub m.o.a. with several different factory loads. Love this rifle.

I've had my Vanguard .30-06 for almost 20 years now and love it. I removed the butt pad and filled the hollow stock with spray expanding foam. It no longer has that empty, hollow sound to it. While apart l painted the stick o.d. green. Have taken plenty of deer and elk with it.

I have a 25-06 in this same rifle and it's just perfect for me. Èxcellant balance and feel.

My first deer hunting gun was a .243 weatherby vanguard with the wood stock. It’s a little heavy but it’s an amazing gun

I had a 270 back in high school 1990',s with beautiful wood. They actions and barrel were made in Japan by Howa. It was a sweet shooter. 👍👍

Grabbed one of these in 308 back when Walmart had the Great Clearance for $200 and the wood version was $300 !

I have one in 257 Wby and love it. Very accurate with handloads using Barnes 100gr TTSX. Well made, rugged and very smooth action and trigger.

Nice 👍. There one of the nicest budget rifles like a Tikka, there performance and quality is well above there prices point. My vanguard is a range certified in 7mm Rem mag, pillar and glass bedded from the factory in a Bell and Carlson stock ( green with black spider webs ). It shoots every bit as good or better then some of my safe/ range princesses 0.33moa with cheap 175gr SP federal power shok factory loads. It’s like Howa mashed a model 70 and 700 together for there 1500 and Weatherby said refine it a little bit more, put it in a nicer stock and stick our name on it for our budget line. God bless Weatherby for making quality there top priority.

If Roy were alive today, to see his favorite cartridge wrapped around this fine piece of gear, he'd be smiling ear to ear. As fine as a deer rifle gets, amongst other game as well!

It's a rebranded howa 1500 with a few custom touches in the manufacturing to have them look abit different than branded howa 1500s . It's a fantastic gun . IMHO the vanguard is best for getting a weatherby proprietary cartridge In an affordable rifle and the howa brand is for commercial ammo or if you want a short action made for .223 rem, ,6.5. Grendel , ect.

I literally just bought mine a week ago, chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor.

I own a vanguard 300 win mag. & mark v in 270 both have sweet crisp triggers but the mark v is l not better. Good rifles worth the x tra 2 me.

don't get the 30/06 comments. weatherby made magnum loads or wildcat loads. witch most ran from because of the recoil and the cost of the shells unless you reload.

Did you do any modifications to the trigger? Mine can only goes down to 3.5lbs.

The block looking rear of the bolt is hideous. I have never owned or fired one myself and know of the overall quality and performance, so having said that , I am sure it is a fine rifle regardless of that one aesthetic issue noted.
