The Bulbulala Loomweavers in Abra, Philippines have transformed their weaving tradition into a source of income.
#Habi (Weave) is a short documentary by Ricca Joice Adrad and Jessica Ayun.
All children in this video are shown with the permission of their parents. The weaving community does not allow any form of child labor and thus, only passing their tradition by teaching the children the process of weaving.

This is a good tradition that should be learned by the young generation, NATIONWIDE. The young generation will find for sure improvements specially creative designs and colors. Then this can be integrated in Philippine Fashion. The winnings of Filipina beauty contestants will then be put into economic advantage for the Philippines. The weaving industry in the Philippines should be made as an attractive sustainable livelihood in the countryside. This can be taught in Schools as "Projects". GOD bless!

My grandmother used to be a traditional weaver, we used to have a pangablan at home and I remember watching her follow these numbers on a paper in order to follow a design. Nakakamiss pakinggan yung tunog ng kahoy an inaapakan haha
