thx so much! i especially appreciate the info on how and why to avoid tension in the weft yarn. i would certainly have had too much tension without your technique with the "bubbles" and moving the yarn down using the fork rather than by tensioning the yarn.

This video is my step-by-step guide through my first weaving. Thank you so much! It's so helpful to have everything explained so succinctly and thoroughly. I have my yarn, my fork (who knew?), my bit of cardboard at the bottom, etc. Thanks for this guidance! I'm excited to learn more from your great videos as I progress! BTW, I love your decor and your weavings. Everything looks so fresh and colorful! You are a delightful artist.

Hi from the northern Shore of Germany. I am 30 years old and tryed to find something to relief Stress and calm down after work. So I decided to learn crochet and knitting. As a new Projekt I wanted to learn Waving, so I bought an Allgäuer school loom and I found your Realy good learning Video. I will use these to do my first tapestry. I got my Grand daughter weaving loom kit for Christmas and I could not understand the instructions that came with it and neither could my husband who is very smart(but not smarter than me!) I came on here and watched this video and it was so easy to understand and learn how to make different shapes. Tomorrow my Grand daughter and I are going to start a scarf together and I will be back to learn some more ways to weave. I'm also going to make loom of my own and try to make some wall hangings. Thank you so much for your helpful videos.

Hmmmmm!!! Making the "arc" on the base rows is a wonderful technique to know. Thank you for sharing it. I have not weaved anything yet, but, have always been concerned about the work "gathering" in the middle. Now, I know how to hopefully keep that from happening. Thanks again! 😉

I did a great job on the loom, if I might say! Warping the yarn, I got way too tight, so, I'll redo tomorrow! Darn it, I thought it had to be pretty tight. And boy I did, real tight! I think its a musical instrument now!!!

You could probably use a pencil if the project is small enough, or even a length of thick wire like an extension cord or something.

Am definitely a new subscriber!!! The Fringe pattern could make a very pretty Fringe rug. I'm new to weaving, so, please forgive me for not knowing, but, how would you finish the pattern if you used all fringes on it? Would you put another "twelve" rows like you did at the beginning? And, how do you remove the loops from each nail on the loom, and, keep it from coming undone? Do you show that step in a different video for us? If not, could you please do that? I appreciate your help, either way. Thanks bunches!!!

can two shed sticks be used, opposite, to pass the needle through faster? If one shed stick works for one direction would another work for passing quickly the other? as you can tell I am just learning what this weaving is about.

Yes, and it would speed up things considerably. But you cannot both put them thought the strands like the one shed stick she has. What you can do is to take another stick just like the shed stick, then take a sturdy thread (best in another color, so you can see it better), attach one end to the end of that second stick, then pick up the first of the bottom threads with the sturdy thread, then loop the sturdy thread around the stick again loosely (leave not more than 2 inches), then pick up the next bottom thread and so on, until you have all lower threads in hanging in loops on the second stick. Attach the sturdy thread on the other end of the second stick. So now, when you gently pull on this second stick, you will raise all threads that were lower, and you have your second shed.

You probably won’t reply. But I really need to know something. I’ve done the fringe and I’ve done some of the pattern but now I think that the fringe could be a bit more full. If I take it out to add more will it ruin the pattern?
