This video is the second part of a series in which I'm weaving a Christmas table runner. During this video, I focus mainly on the weaving of the pickup stick pattern. I give out many details as well as some tips to weave this pattern easily. To be honest, this pickup stick pattern is quite easy to make and it gives beautiful results.

THE YARN
For the warp and the weft, I used 8/2 cotton from Maurice Brassard in the color Naturel (100). Here's where you can get the same yarn on the Woolery's website : woolery.com/maurice-brassard-...
For the pick-up stick pattern, I used 8/4 cotton from Hobbii in the color Grey Brown (005). Here's where you can find it: www.dpbolvw.net/click-1004890...

MY LOOM
In the video, you can see my Ashford rigid heddle loom. Its width is 32" (80cm) and I love it! If you are in the US and looking for the same loom, The Woolery has it! Here's their website: woolery.com/ashford-rigid-hed...

I also weave left is up, leftie!, but it bites me in the bum bum at the end of the project when my down shed is junk and I need the manual dexterity to avoid a ton of floats. 🙄 You're such a great teacher and this table runner is really beautiful.

Hello there fellow Leftie 😊 Glad to know I'm not alone 😅 Oh I'm sorry for your down shed. Have you tried inserting a pickup stick behind the heddle and sliding it to the back beam? This helps me a lot when I reach this part of a warp! Thank you so much 🥰

@@Curly_n_Yarny Yeah, it's the only thing that works, lol. I was thinking about changing to left is down, but I just can't bring myself to do it.

Hi Mylena, on the second section you did the brown dots then wove 3 normal. After the floats you wove 2 picks before the dots. Does this mean that the second row of dots is closer to the floats? Sorry for asking but I am about to weave it and just wanted to check. Thanks 🙏

Yes, that's exactly it 😊 this difference almost doesn't show once it's wet finished. And this way, you can weave one pick in the down shed before weaving the final dot. Otherwise, I found that if I were to weave a third pick in the up shed and then the dot, well the dot would look messy. Let me know if you have any other questions 😁
