When you ask people to explain blockchains, you will often hear explanations involving terms like trustlessness, decentralization, immutability .... which are very abstract and difficult to understand.
In this video, we explain blockchains by walking through how it is different from a "normal" database run off "normal" corporate servers. We highlight three key differences including the What, the Who and the Where.
1. What you are allowed to do on the database using Create, Read, Update, Delete as a starting point for Web 2. How is Web 3 different?
2. Who is allowed to write to it - in Web 2, only authorized personnel of a company. What about Web 3?
3. Where the data is stored - in Web 2, on the servers owned or controlled by a company sitting inside a datacenter. Where is Web 3 data stored?
