I thought I left comment again, but I can't find it lol Anyways, I wanted to say... After watching your videos with this mower, I couldn't resist but searching and researching how to get it over here in Canada! Originally, I was looking at Baroness LM4D (Japanese), but it's expensive for a manual reel mower (70,000yen = USD $515) shipping from Japan, so the total cost would be way too much. H12R is almost like Fiskars (mechanically) with the chaine drive. it's quiet, small, it stripes well ! I love the front and rear rollers 😍 Aaannd I ordered one just earlier !! I just hope it ll get to Canada safe and without any hustle ! Shipping would be crazyyyyy 😂😂😂

@YardBrah Majority of the ebay sellers don't ship to Canada 😞 So I ordered directly from Webb online, and I will have a package forwarding company to ship to Canada. I was skeptical about using pkg forwarding companies because when I had used one from Japan, my credit card info had been stolen! Hopefully I won't have any issue this time. I have no idea how much it d cost for shipping and other fees.. although, seeing your unboxing video, the oackage size doesn't seem to be too bad. just the weight that would cost..maybe? I'm ready for double + of the product price lol Baroness LM18G!!?? Wow, that is a monster mower 😆😆!! Looks pretty cool tho 👌

Nice one Yardbrah! I just mentioned this mower to my Dad and Granddad over dinner last night, and Grandad paused for a second and ask “did you you say Webb?” I say “yeah, Webb” He says “wow are they still going?” I say “yeah why? Did you have one” He says “I’ve still got one” An hour later and a trip to the little storage door under the house and I am now the owner of my grandfathers Webb Wasp, circa 1950’s. Basically the same design as the modern one in this vid, 6 blade, large rear roller wheel, all steel, built in USA. Still working perfectly but needs a clean up, sharpening and paint restoration. Without this video, I would have never known! Cheers mate!

I’m in the UK and just took delivery of my Webb yesterday because of you and my GOD she’s a beauty! I was using a cheap Bosch rotary mower and getting pathetic stripes and the Webb has just blown it out the water, so pleased - thank you for the recommendation

I just ordered one yesterday, could not find any used ones, so had to buy new, but the cheapest I found online was £92-99 with free delivery from Charlie's in Welshpool, can't wait till it arrives, when adjusting the cylinder, is it the cylinder that actually moves up or down, or is it like my cheap challenge cylinder mower and it just bends the bed knife up or down closer to the cylinder? Thanks.

Greetings from Northern Ireland. I found the exact same mower today for £ 20.00 in the buy and sell section of my local newspaper !!!!!!! The owner had the original packaging and everything! It now sits proudly beside my 1960s suffolk punch and suffolk colt. If you ever get the chance try a punch or a colt the petrol tanks are about the size of a pint beer can!!!

Facebook market place is your friend for the rear roller manual reel mower search. Have 4 now, Webb wasp, maxxes mk3, mclane greens mower with rear roller mod (turtorial can be found on the lawn forum). And lately my prized Toro golf green mower circa 1924 8 blades with perfect gearing machined gears. I swear it does as good of a job as a modern greensmaster just no engine. On a side note if you add 20 or so pounds over the rear roller to the mower you are using here it will cut so much nicer and you have more control (less bouncing) and of course better striping ! All of the manual mowers I have are at least 80 lbs with the exception of the wasp which is basically what you have but the OG one that it probably 50lbs. But man do these manual rear roller mowers put a smile on your face when using them !

I have never seen any of those on Facebook market place 😂😂😂 Yes I love the rear roller manual push... would love to get some of those vintage ones for sure it's just shipping costs... by the time I have a little army of foreign lawn mowers I could have bought a small property to cut more grass 😂😂😂

@@YardBrah I live in Canada, so similar with them not being sold here. The ones I have gotten are from people who immigrated from the uk at some point in the last 50 years and they happened to bring their mower with them, haven’t paid more then 200 for one yet

I have the fiskars reel mower - love it BUT….. uuuugghh the reel gets jammed with any little stick it hits in the yard - the big roller wheel on that Webb looks like it would be a huge benefit

Oh yeah fiskars is nice but Webb def is a better build and cut! I don’t get wavy lines at 1” like I do with the fiskars…. Fiskars needs more rotations per yard for it to compete at 1” 🙏🏾🙏🏾🤙🏾🔥🔥🔥

I can't believe Webb doesn't do a wider version of this model. I will be the first one to buy. And I can't believe no one apart from Hudson Star makes manual reel mowers with a proper rear roller like this one has.

Yeah it’s crazy! I don’t think Webb has enough confidence to try the US market cause they could kill here 😂 hopefully they see this so it motivates them to come to US 😂😂😂🤙🏾

@@YardBrah Yes, but can you imagine that Webb actually makes a wider version manual reel mower, but with no rear roller and a different construction (basically it looks like all other manual reel mowers on the market and has wheels instead). Such a waste of business opportunity because most of the lawn enthusiast would want one and Hudson Star is just crazy expensive for what it is.

If you think that's good I have a Ransomes certes 10 bladed push cylinder mower very rare and probably the best push mower made, originally intended for golf courses and bowling greens pity the shipping to the states from the uk was so costly it would be right up your street

What’s the shortest you could get the cut length to? Looking to make a little putting green but need the cut to be 5mm, this is only advertised at 15mm minimum cut height.

What they don’t advertise is the little notch the roller adjustment can go into! It can go 1/8” … problem though is it’s only 5 blade for a green it might cause some ripples… you gotta find a 10 blade or higher 🔥🔥🔥😊🙏🏾🤙🏾

You know what’s funny is Webb was doing bicycle parts in the 1850’s then mowers in the 1920s until they got established in 1938… Hudson has been around since 1997 😉 to me Hudson is a $2000 overpriced version of this one 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😊🙌🏾🤙🏾🙏🏾

Hudson star is 83 pound heavy with 11 blades cutting 3/32 inches for putting green. It is expensive though.

Ashland conveyer KD16GPTS Has a 1.9" tube, but the smaller diameter tube you go with, the lower you can go. I've run my earthwise down to 5/16" with this mod. You could probably go lower but the bedknife angle becomes very aggressive.

Thanks for your videos of this webb mower, I live in the U.K but there are hardly any videos showing the results from this mower, well impressed with the results you get with it and the stripes. So I ordered one yesterday, which should arrive in a few days. I have a cheap 12" cylinder mower at the moment (challenge brand from Argos), but can't get stripes with it as it is too light in weight with just a lightweight rear plastic roller and driven by plastic wheels and a gear, not chain and sprockets with a large rear roller like this webb. So can't wait for it to arrive and try out. Tell me, do you think I will still get stripes with it at this time of year in the U.K when our grass and ground are always wet from now onwards, untill our Spring and Summer starts next year?

@@Ligerpride yeah love it, it gives great stripes after a few passes, is so light, and razor sharp, love using it. I have about 7 push cylinder mowers in total, most old vintage classic ones that are very heavy, in fact just finished mowing using my JP maxees, so cleaning it down, that is a lovely mower with removable cutter unit👍

@@Ligerpride will take you a while to set up perfect, quality control is not the best on them as they are made in China, but once set up correctly, you will love it, and the results. The stickers start peeling off, and mine was out of alignment between the two side casings, so sorted that, then found to get it cutting strips of paper with zero contact, I had to backlap it (and yes I bought mine brand new), but once I got it all set up and sorted perfectly, well happy with it. I have modded mine also by getting nylon shoulder bushes for the front roller as it is metal rotating on metal, so now I have done that, the front roller runs silently on a nylon bush, but they are lovely to use and give a cracking cut and finish, and so light and easy to push and carry about.
