To bad you didnt show how to do the choke setting! Its kinda hard to figure out at first but if you use a 5mm drill bit you can tighten your choke and fast idle against the drill bit to set the choke valve clearance at 5mm and then you can back out the fast idle screw to set the choke valve pull down clearance to 4.5mm

looks ok, but never place the top on a table resting on the float.

Need to rebuild my 38 because of fuel leaking all around the main gasket, also the butterflies don’t completely close when i let off the pedal and the linkage is fine. i have to release the pedal very fast or else it’ll stay slightly open but still rev very high

my carburator is pouring too much fuel and black smoke is coming from the exhaust, then the engine misfire. pls help

Was it working before? Or is it newly installed?

Also, video doesnt show adjusting the float and needle movement. So if you just rebuilt your carb following this, it may be your float is not adjusted properly.

The little ball inside the valve under the needle valve has jammed. While the engine is running, get someone to put the pedal down flat to the floor and hold it there. Then take the handle of a screwdriver and lightly tap the carburettor where the fuel inlet pipes are, while at the same time closing the choke flaps by hand. You need to create a big vacume inside the carb to clear the blockage and free the valve up. Do not hit hard or you will damage the carburettor. A few taps should be fine and it will idle like normal again with no black smoke. You'll know its fixed when the engine runs smoother immediately. Then lastly, with the engine still running and the pedal held flat, close off the 2 intakes on the top of the carb with your hand a few times, then you'll be good to go.
