There are many websites for voice over work, and freelance voice over job opportunities for beginners seem to be plentiful online. I am often asked about how to find work, or even start a career from home as a voice actor. With platforms and websites such as Freelancer, Fiverr, Upwork, Voicebunny (now called Bunny Studios), Voices.com, Voice123 and more, how do you know which ones are legit, and which ones to avoid? This is great info and I'm so glad you have shared your experience. I'm not encouraged based on their "take" and it feels a bit like a circus. That said, I'll keep forging ahead and see what makes sense. Thanks! Onto your next video.

Several years ago, they told me there was no advantage to be gained by being among the first to audition because they mix up the order. Not too long ago, they told me not to audition after a certain number of auditions had been made on a job. Somehow it doesn’t make sense that they can control who they listen to first if the client starts listening before the deadline.

Neil, I like your reviews and would encourage you to do one on Voice Jungle. Very simple rules and not a lot of bells and whistles but great support. At least that's been my experience.

Voices will pay you shortly after the client approves the job you did and releases the funds. However, when the client is voices, they don’t pay you until they get paid by their client, which might not be until they finish the production and their clients purchasing dept pays them.

When it comes to VDC, I am sadly opinionated. I have been voicing like most for 300 years, I do really well out of many platforms, especially The Voice Realm...Please do a review soon! I fear that VDC has simply swamped itself, especially during covid...I did a demo the other day, one of 85! come on that's nonsense. My booking ratio on VDC is 172 to 1, on all others it is is 10 to 1. An agency here in the Emirates booked me, turned out to be a producer I worked with many times 10+ years ago, I asked him about VDC, he said quote, "When I get to thirty received I switch off, the quality is so bad" VDC has in my humble opinion sold out, I personally after many years will not renew....and spend the money on something like Bodalgo. Just my thoughts, great channel keep it going.

They don’t want to have checks and balances. They want to get as many people to pay $500 as possible.

There isn’t room for everyone at the top. The whole idea is that only one lucky person will be picked out of 50 to 100 people competing for the next job.

3000?! Dollars or pounds? Either way that's mental. The subscription is that high? I see it at $500 USD/py - are there more tiers after that level? It's way too much, that's really gross.

Those are client side memberships not voice actor memberships.

Five Months Later... I signed up for a free account yesterday. I put a couple of good samples up there. Hearing your review, and the comments section here, it seems like it's not very good even if you pay $3000. So, did I just waste 2 hours of my life? I haven't even looked around on there yet. And, I'm a little confused about your final verdict. Crown Stag VO, if your channel is meant for people early in their journey. It sounds like a terrible reccomendation. On a scale of 1-10 I'm probably a solid 5 VO, (that's just my opinion) but if Neil is barely getting jobs... I'd probably get skunked for sure.
