Today we begin the mini series about Spoonie Approved crochet hooks. Starting us off with the new hooks from the company WeCrochet! In this video we will talk about what makes a good hook and why I believe it's Spoonie Approved, or not.

🌸What is a Spoonie?
Someone with a chronic condition. Spoons are how we explain the amount of energy it takes to accomplish any (even simple) tasks.
🌸What is a Zebra?
Someone with a rare or undiagnosed condition (or both in my case). Th term comes from in medical school they tell students "when you hear hoofbeats, don't look for zebras" Meaning look for the obvious conclusion. Zebras are exceptions to the rule and constantly Undiagnosed or misdiagnosed because no one thinks to look for the rare conditions.

I was recommended to you by another creator. I am a creator as well who is a spoonie as well. I have fibro and several mental health issues. I’m glad I found your channel as we need more of us out there to help each other out. And educate others about what it’s like to be a spoonie and a zebra. I checked to see if they had these hooks to purchase but they’re sold out. I do love furls as well!! Loving your videos so far. A good hook should not squeak! And be easy on the hands since I have fibro. And be able to use if you are a knife or a pencil holder. It should be versatile.

Wow, yes, absolutely! Love your thoughts on this. We do! We truly do! We need more Spoonie creators in this world. Yes they sell out fast but you can get on the waiting list. They should be back in April.

I'm not a spoonie but I do have hand and wrist issues so think a crochet hook should be lightweight as well. I really love your channel. I've never seen a false french knot demonstrated. Thank you.

Great review!! I got these hooks a few months ago now, and they have taken over as my favorite set. Prior to these I loved my clover amours, but these take the cake. I was surprised I liked the length. I was worried they wouldn’t be as smooth to crochet with but are a dream. I have my clovers as back ups, but have only been using these and will probably get another set when on sale.

Yes! These are my favorite hooks! I saw a review of someone that said the plastic was wearing thin but she did admit she had a death grip. So if you don't grip it tight, it won't. I wanted to get a set of the 'other' set but it's just a bit out of my budget. Also i didn't get it on sale, i really love these hooks! Thanks!
