I was in my friend’s wedding in October and she had QR codes on the tables so the guests could read her and her husband’s story/testimony! I’ve never seen that done and I would love to do that myself!

I really do recommend having a first look with your spouse before the ceremony. It doesn't take away from the moment of walking down and seeing one another. But to have time before to be able to pray with one another or take personal photos, it's something you won't get at any other time during the wedding, and it's so special.

As a wedding photographer, I can confirm it’s industry standard to pay for things in full before the wedding day! You have a contract in place to protect the both of you when it comes to deliverables ☺️

I love the idea of an intimate wedding and hiring a videographer and then maybe after our honeymoon or whatever we can have a larger just like backyard bash and invite EVERYONE too and just play the wedding video... which maybe sounds like I’m being cheap lol, but I really just love the idea of a smaller, intimate wedding! My parents eloped so I’ve just always imagined myself doing something smaller as well

Loved this! My husband and I just got married a couple months ago. Something we did that I love is we did a “first touch”, where we didn’t see each other, but stool back to back and held hands and read our personal vows/letter to each other. We didn’t want to read something sooo personal in front of everyone, so we did personal vows privately and then we did traditional vows during the ceremony. It was great to do the first touch because we got to connect before we saw each other but didn’t ruin the surprise of him seeing me walk down the aisle. I wish we would’ve hired a day of coordinator or just had a family friend that we trusted coordinate the day. I personally wasn’t stressed out, but my sister who was my matron of honor was doing most of the coordinating and I know it was stressing her out. I wish she would’ve been able to relax more. Overall, don’t stress toooo much about the wedding day. Somehow it all comes together. And the marriage is what really matters.❤️

Loved this video! I got married two years ago but this was still really fun to watch. My biggest regret is not hiring a videographer. At the time it felt too expensive, but now I really wish we could watch our wedding day back! One of my favorite things we did at our reception was a dance with the couple who had been married the longest, which was my grandparents who have been married over 70 years! It was so special.

I really needed to hear the part about minimal decor because I felt I needed to make it bigger but I like the simple better! So important to do what you want and not what others want/did! I completely agree with you about the first look. I loved that you included some of your wedding footage in this so we can see some of it but you were able to keep the whole thing private. Your day was beautiful!

For the lunch/eating thing. I knew I was going to be super nervous and would have a hard time eating so I had a bunch of snacks. Fruit, veggies, donut holes, pita and hummus, lunchables! Just small things to make sure I was getting food but nothing heavy

Ahh I’m so glad you posted this. My wedding is in February and we’re going for simple decor, very classic and romantic. My biggest problem is trying to please everyone when in the end it’s my wedding and nobody else’s

Loved this video and excited for more wedding content! We got engaged in February and are planning our wedding for May 2022 in Punta de Mita, Mexico! I'm so torn between doing a first look or not (I've always dreamed of the traditional walk down the aisle) so hearing the pros and cons in this video was really helpful. Hoping with a destination wedding it'll be smaller and simply just a fun weekend with our family and friends :)

Ok honestly though thank you so much for the first look advice! I’m currently engaged and planning my wedding and I’ve always envisioned my fiancé seeing me in my dress walking down the aisle first (and so has he) but I’ve been feeling pressure to do a first look. It’s so nice to hear from someone who didn’t do one and was super happy they didn’t so thank you😊

My brother got married two weeks ago and for during the day they had Subway sandwich platters brought in for the wedding party. It was really nice to have those available to eat throughout getting ready during the day. We even gave some to the photographers and hair/makeup people. I'd say their one regret was not having a videographer. They thought they'd never watch the video in the future, but there's so much that you miss or forget that would have been nice to have captured. And for other people to watch too. Oh, also, their day-of coordinator was VITAL. She took care of EVERYTHING that day. See even cleaned up someone's puke at the end of the night so they'd get their security deposit back. Lol. She was amazing.

We got married at 12pm with the reception starting at 5pm (cocktail hr first). For family and wedding party we had a light lunch a my parents house. My biggest tip is take the day. You are putting out money no matter how much it is so enjoy the day. I’m so glad we had a “long” wedding day and were able to get the pictures we wanted without rushing to the reception.

I'm getting married in less than 2 weeks and hired a videographer last minute and SO glad I did. Also my wedding coordinator has been worth every cent so far and gives me so much more peace of mind leading up to the day. Enjoyed this video. Cheers 💖

Getting married in May 2022 and we just locked in the venue! Love the idea of preserving your flowers in resin and I'll definitely have to look into that in my town.

Wedding talk is my fav!! I’m a wedding photog but also got married less than a month ago! Paying in full is standard, and you have a contract to protect both of you! So you shouldn’t ever have to worry about deliverables because it should all be spelled out in the contract. A professional will always communicate what and when to expect things to ease your mind too 🥰 We also did a more intimate wedding! I am SO happy we did!! I think if we had more guests I would’ve felt so overwhelmed tbh!

This video is awesome, I wish I would have seen something like this before I got married. But I had fun in my wedding. One of my biggest regrets was not having a good photographer and not hiring a videographer for the wedding day. One of the things I did appreciate it was having a small Ceremony a conformable dress

I'm getting married on October 1 this year!! We've been together since I was 16 and now I'm 22. The theme is "enchanted garden" so the colors are kind of all over the place but I think it'll look good. I'm so nervous yet excited.

Loved the video! I am getting married in july, we will do a botanical minimal theme. We start in the church and then move to the vendor which has a botanical industrial vibe already along side a river 🥰

I'm getting married on Sunday October 8 of 2023! Im so excited! We tried to book our dream wedding of 2022 but our venue was already booked on a date that we wanted. I don't regret waiting an extra year though because its making money alot less stressful!
