That guy in 15 minutes did a lifetimes worth of good. He risked his own life and saved someone’s life.
@nukrisamyurashvili30214 жыл бұрын
he did not really risk his life its not that bad. he would be able to swim in and out nonstop cuz he is trained . mad respect for him tho.

California and Hawaii have some of the best lifeguards on the planet. Lucky to have them

The lifeguard rode the rip to reach the victim in 15 seconds. Skill!

Then Sam sideways out of the rip & let the incoming waves & current help them get back in. That guy was wasted after. Hope he was OK & didn't dry drown after cuz it looks like he took in water. Great job to the lifeguard(s).

Crazy how fast he went out with the aid of the rip. You can see quite clearly though how it will stop eventually once you let it take you out past the waves. Key is to remain calm. Amazing lifeguarding work. Very dangerous wave in particular due to the refraction. It looks like he paddled up the beach a bit to get out of the rip and then used the waves to help push them in. In general if you see waves breaking, you've a better chance of finding shallower water.

He needed to swim about 30 ft sideways to get out of the rip. You can see the rip very clearly right where he's located. He had no chance of swimming straight in against it. Swim sideways until you get out of the rip, then you can swim into the beach (using the waves to help push you in).

Having been an ocean life guard in So. Cal, the guard needs to keep more distance from the victim. If the victim is panicked they tend to grab you and push you under. You hand them the float until they are relaxed then from the back secure the float and start towing. We lost a guard with long hair by the victim getting a literal death hold on to his hair and they both drowned.

You can actually see the lifeguard pushing him away to turn him around and keep him on his back. He also pushes the guys elbows so he doesn't get hit.

These guys could use some rescue boards like on Bondi beach in Australia. The lifeguard did well but would have reached the guy in less than half the time and got him back about as fast with a rescue board. Appreciate all lifeguards, but tons of respect to these oceanside lifeguards. The ocean rescues require tons more than pools & landlocked waters.

That is the con about a tube. You have to make contact no matter what.
@johnmitchell8487 Жыл бұрын
You don’t use a rescue board in situations where there is heavy shore break. Becomes more of a liability than anything.

Happened to me. I had to pull two victims up where our lifeguard was trying to escape but the victim had a hold of her swimsuit. Death grip like you said. And she did an escape and tried to separate herself and then just pulled both of them down I had to dive down and pull them both up get them both the safety and then the other lifeguards showed up and they tried to pry his fingers off of her suit but he would not let go for anything. Just in fear for his life. Best rescue I ever made.

Great swim, great rescue. The guy is too tired to walk 6 ft and falls in small backwash. Best to get the patient completely up on dry land.

Where is the second lifeguard? This one should learn how to fix the tube. I recommend Rescuelines, but you need a reliable Buddy.

Why is that person even out there?
@vantheman38575 жыл бұрын
He was probably just swimming and the high tide push came in with sets and he got gassed.Guess he had to learn the hard way that the wedge isn't a swimming pool.
@BLACK05GO15 жыл бұрын
He was probably close to shore and a big wave probably pulled him out into water over his head. Then the rip took over and pulled him out. He didn't swim out that far. The rip current pulled him out there.

Wow, look at how fast that current took the lifeguard out there! Much respect! Look at that idiot jumping into the surf. There is literally a rescue happening right before your eyes and you go jumping right in. My god the stupidity of some people!

looks like he was drunk or something yea he could’ve been weak but if he was why he didn’t let the lifeguards help him at the beach? he was just refusing the help when he couldn’t even stand up that’s some drunk activity, also he just suddenly starts to take out sand out his pockets like bro get to safety first, he was most definitely prolly most likely drunk IMO

Cansadísimo. Ni pararse podia y todo el esfuerzo parece haberlo hecho el salvavidas. Y luego los amigos ni ayudan a sacarlo aún del agua. 🤨
