Cello has always fascinated; so much tone, emotion. In the hands of an extraordinary artist, as here, deeply beautiful.

Wednesday playing Paint it Black on the Cello gave this music the darkness it deserved. This took it to the next level!

the cello needs to be used more for this kind of music. it just feels like its a perfect instrument for dark songs.

Excessive movement is something that is weird when in a normal day but it is never questioned when feeling the music. Beautiful!

Ever since I was a young boy my favourite instrument has been the cello. I lack the gift of music to play it, but listening to a truly talented artist play it well still brings great wonder and amazement. I never liked the song _Paint it Black_ before now. Played on the cello, it has a life of it's own. It's almost as it the notes were intended to be play that way. Beautiful! 🍷☺️👍

She demonstrates the difference between a robotic playing of a piece and bringing out in a piece of music a full and complete expression of emotion with impact that is honest and true to the artist and the music itself. I have seen very few jealous better than this young woman for she can definitely bring out the best in a musical score. She has my sincere gratitude for sharing her gift

I was at the hans zimmer concert in Manchester a couple of nights ago where Mariko was playing in the orchestra. What a talent, mind blown watching her play. Star of the show for me.

This is far and away the best version I've found of this. Odd question, because I appreciate it's better as the full thing, but is anyone else curious to hear just the cello we see being played without any backing? Just because it's what the characters would hear in the scene in the TV show and I'm curious. That's possibly an odd request but I really would like a video that's just that as well... even though, as I said, I do know this original version will still be the better one!

Fun facts: Jenna Ortega learned how to play the cello just two months before filming Wednesday. She also learned fencing, German, boxing and archery for the role. On top of all that, she choreographed the now-famous Wednesday dance number.

Beautiful! The cello is a difficult instrument for school students because of the difficulties transporting the cello to and from school so the can practice at school and home. Many schools don’t have the money to keep the cello in school. So check with your middle schools where it starts and offer to buy a new/used cello if they don’t have one. I got our school a quality, slightly used 3/4 cello for $400 or $500. The musical director was very happy.

When I first heard this, Paint it black didn't even come to mind. I was too engrossed in the show and how the music played a great part. I wish i didn't find out now because I enjoyed it more then, not knowing, than I do knowing what the song is.

This was a fabulous cover in the style of the show...well done! Of course, the performance in the show is impossible to accurately reproduce live, since sections of the song were recorded with multiple tracks and combined later. Props to Jenna Ortega for spending the time to at least **look** like she's playing. I really hope she continues to learn, as Cello is an extraordinary instrument, and playing feeds the soul.
