Answer: ABS Tone Ring AKA- ABS Encoder Ring … Antilock Braking System sends message to computer on how many rotations wheel is or isn’t making! … anyway, that’s all I know👍 Special Thanks to my friend Xander for this weeks WIIW! Stainless Grades 409, 430, 439 can have magnetic properties. Looks like a part for an ignition timing system perhaps. 🤔

It looks like a bolt-on ring gear for something, perhaps a flywheel bolts to that. Sometimes, you'll see stainless steel knives on somebody's magnetic holder. I guess it depends on the carbon content or something. I don't know how all that works. Metallurgy interests me, but I don't have any education in it. I hope I don't end up down a rabbit hole on that. Ain't nobody got time for that.

Is that a flywheel position sensor ring from a Mazda or similar? I know sometimes Mazdas won't start because the flywheel sensor (is that the right name? It's been a while since I picked up a spanner) has landed between the segments and the sensor can't decide on the position. On the other hand I might be talking twaddle, like i said, it's been a while...
