It is week 6 for the Cornish Cross and it is time to weigh them. We also compare them to the Bielefelder chickens which are supposed to be a great dual purpose chicken.

Good jon in the birds and yet better job raising those two, definitely need more parents raising kids involved in a productive lifestyle. Thank you for sharing.

We have six Bielfelders and prefer them over our previous six Buff Orpingtons mostly because they aren't as loud. They also taste better but as far as egg production, there about the same. We're considering trying a more productive egg laying bird all together. Thanks for sharing your vids and keeping your kids involved.

Thanks for following along!! We love the Bielefelders we have 20 hens and get about 13 eggs a day so not to bad. We are considering a small egg layer like the novagen just to help keep up with eggs sales

Hi. I remember reading somewhere, Bielefeleder's are a heritage breed that is slow to mature and will breed and propagate better and give more eggs than the Cornish .... I'd like to know eventually when the Bielefeleder mature your experience as far as this information I had read .... thanks have a good day!

I had a beilfelder hen that was huge, she laid huge eggs and quite often she would lay a dinosaur egg with two yolk

I should get my scale out and check out my cuckoo Marans hen. She’s a chunk 🤣 apparently that’s another dual breed, but you’re right. Hard to beat that Cornish growth!

I love the scale we didn’t have one last year but it has been enjoyable being able to check their weights each week and I will like to see final weight after butcher
