I'm grateful for your videos - your perspectives, positivity mixed with realism, and your amazing ability to capture Rome through photos and video. I'm also grateful to be going on a solo trip to Sanremo, Italy, on November 24 for 12 days. After doing an entire solo trip to Santa Margherita Ligure last year, my love for the Riviera continued to grow, so I'm checking out Sanremo this year. And while I'm there, I hope to get some serious writing done on my first novel.

Wow, thank you! I'm happy I come off the way that you described. I try to be careful about negativity on here, but I also don't want to lie and tell people that Rome is heaven on earth lol I want to be real! I despise how fake most of social media is.. and I struggle with that, too, because sometimes I wonder if my channel would grow more if I made my life look "perfect". Anyway.. I'm happy to hear that you like my videos 💛 Oooh a novel?? How amazing, good for you! I hope you get a lot of time to work on that project, and lots of inspiration, too (:

I LOVED the Silent Patient! I flew through it when I went to Croatia cuz I brought it as my beach read. I finished it in 2 days. 😂 Don’t worry, it’s not too scary, it’s psychological and the plot twist will make you go WHAT?! I loved it 🎉

Hi Alyssa! I’ve been subbed to your channel for a few months now, really started following because I’m coming back to Rome for the holidays and wanted to get a few new tips but the more I watch of your videos - I really enjoy your style, your videos are super chill and just fun to enjoy over a cup of coffee on Sunday mornings. Now you bring up books and I just want to support your reading challenge by saying you can do it! I’ve read all the fiction books you mentioned and just want to echo that while Silent Patient is “scary” it’s not really. It’s damn good! And It Ends with Us was a really good! There is a part 2 - maybe you can read that in 2024? Evelyn was one of my fav books of 2022! I just added Make the beast beautiful to my good reads list. Speaking of - maybe start a good reads account…. Might make your reading challenge more fun and a great way for your followers to see your reads and get more recommendations. pretty sure you will not the only one to feel intimidated reading many lives many masters, i literally got hooked once i grabbed this book this summer and couldn’t stop reading, but eventually i got pretty confused because some parts makes sense to me but some don’t. but i think it is quite an experience reading this book

Book suggestion: Roman Stories (Racconti Romani) by Jhumpa Lahiri. She wrote it in Italian and then (partially) translated it in english. The italian version was published in october 2022, the english one in october 2023.
