Hi Noemi🤗. I sitting here in my living room with my dear husband.. relaxing after a hard day of work. Listening to the police cars, ambulance, and fire truck sirens.. People in front of my building playing loud music😨. This is driving me bananas. I see your house surrounded by beautiful nature, your lovely garden and your chickens, But above all..The" peace and quiet" that surrounds your awesomely beautiful house. I just close my eyes just to feel the tranquility of nature. God bless you and your family my dear friend. Thank you for always sharing your ideas with all of us. Have a blessed beautiful weekend with your family. Bear hugs from New York City🗽🙏😘💕👍

I live in western PA and the deer situation is awful where we live. They absolutely hate lavender because it's very fragrant. It's the only "flower" I can plant in the front yard. They don't eat it. I've enjoyed smelling it around the yard. We planted some in multiple places around the yard and they're so hearty and pretty also, plus useful for indoor purposes. We've put fencing around our garden out of necessity also. Thank you for all your good content!

Cicadas are the sound of an Australian summer! That was the wonderful little creature on your window. The cicada spends most of its life cycle underground for years and only emerges to live for a few weeks. They come in so many different colours and varieties. As a child, I used to collect the Green Grocer, Yellow Monday and the very special Black Prince. Happy memories!! Enjoy the next one you find. They do no harm. 😊

Hey sweet Naomi! The first plant you showed is a succulent we call Ipomoni (patience) here in Greece because it can go for months without water, especially in the colder months. It is not an outdoor plant!!!! It needs sunshine and fresh air and some water once a month when it's spring/autumn, and maybe twice a month when it's summer.

So if you know somebody that has a dog and they brush their dog or cut the dogs here ask him to save that here as well as when you go to get your haircut save that hair too then what do you do is you put it in a mesh bag of sorts a reusable one and you stick the hair and that so that the animal can smell it. And that will help deter them. As well as other plants that can be grown I can't remember it right now but yeah. I'm really loving your videos. Very motivational thank you and funny you guys are so sweet together

Great video Noemi!! It’s so nice to see your boys all working together!! Your chickens look so healthy and happy!!! That fence is a genius idea!! Here our problem is rabbits and sometimes groundhogs - they have eaten so many of our cucumbers and even killed a nice healthy plant. We have double wire fencing, 1” x 2’ squares and they still seem to find ways of getting in 😫 Cole’s room turned out nice! Your home is absolutely beautiful and I’m so happy for you all to live in the country!! Sending love & big hugs to you my dear friend 🥰❤️❌⭕️🪴🌱🐓

another use for cauliflower is green soup. Sautee one onion in olive oil, cut up one cauliflower and add to pot, cover with water. Boil till tender, add a cup of chopped kale leaf, simmer 5 min more. Puree with immersion blender. Add any spice you want. That shelf looks like it would be a great train shelf for Cole.

Deer got to our new trees too. We tried the deer mesh, but the tree kept growing through it and we had to keep pulling the mesh up every week. We ended up encircling each tree with sheep fencing secured it with some rebar we already had. The sheep fencing is really affordable, even cheaper than the deer mesh!

I use that deer netting as fencing. We make cages around the individual raised beds, which is very easy to move. Some are made with pvc pipe and some are just poles stuck in the ground and wrapped in deer netting. I use zip ties to hold them in place. It even keeps out the ground squirrels!

Hi Noemi, thanks for the interesting project update and chicken chat! I've heard that, although deer can jump high, they don't like to jump into an enclosed space, so two fences built quite close together can help to keep them out. Good luck with your garden 👍

Oregon girl here.....If you still have that jade....you can try putting it outside, protected in the shade of your house. We leave our jade out for the Summer and pretty much ignore it except for occasional watering. Now I note it on the calendar...outside after Memorial Day - bring in after Labor Day-ish since I forgot one year and realized our previous 20 year old jade was outside still after an early ice strom. Jades need little water and thrive in the Summer. Hopefully deer aren't into them.

I'm Polish so we do lots of pickled salads, cucumbers etc. When I do preserves I add white wine vinegar, white sugar, pinch of salt (any herbs/spices I fancy like cloves or mustard seeds) and once I close salads in jars I boil them in a pot of water for about 10-15 minutes (I put a kitchen towel in bottom of the pan and make sure the jars are not touching each other) and then those preserves last up to 2 years if kept in a cold place :)

I do live in California, so maybe its warm enough to be outside all year round. But I would say more direct sun on the plant and see what happens. I don't think the outdoor soil mix would effect it negatively. Love your videos as always. BLESSINGS-Kate

My grandma used to save her hair from the hairdressers and put it in a little mesh sock and tie that to small trees to protect them from deer

Noemi - I think your Dwarf Jade plant & Schefflera (Umbrella plant) look pretty darn healthy! I know Dwarf Jade plants do require quite a bit of indirect sun light and like you said not too much water. Your umbrella plant does drop leaves naturally but if you feel like the soil is making them a little shrively on the bottom leaves you could always cut the healthy top pieces and propagate a new plant in water As usual I thoroughly enjoyed your video! Thanks ♥

Wow this was a nice long video. Those deer!! Good idea on the fence. My bunnies are ridiculous. I'm still so jealous of the garden I'm only just starting to get tomatoes and peppers. Made pesto with my garlic scrapes and badil. I'm.back to work at IKEA but only with some restrictions. Its been pretty good. We are going into busy season and then Christmas season! Looking forward to your next project! (Thanks for the chickens gossiping!) Marie😘😘😘😊🐓🐓🐓🐓

Hi Noemi! Great video! One tip for the money plant, the one shown in 2.49 minutes of the video, I water it once a week by placing it on a bowl of water and let it drink from the bottom. After a few hours, the water is absorbed and then put it back on display. It worked for me, good luck 🍀!

Hi Neomi - the first plant you showed is a type of succulent. It needs to be in the sun and needs little to no water. You can eat the leaves they are high in protein. We get these plants in Africa at the game reserves - the wild animals eat them. In South Africa we call it a SPEKBOOM or bacon tree or elephant bush or dwarf jade. You can pick a stem off and stick it in the ground and it will grow. You can make a nice spicy onion relish with the leaves or pick them and put them in salads.

Jade plants you hardly ever have to water. I think they can go for months.

With your plants I think your Jade plant is more of an outside plant and I was told and I have done it, one at the front door and one at the back, it won't make you rich but money will flow into the house. Also I don't know in America but here in Western Australia Perth I bought from the nursery this monitor that you put in the soil of pot plants and it will indicate if it needs watering or not, I was over watering my indoors plants and now with that they are thriving

I don't know what it is, but I also had plants that grew better than others! It was probably too much water and a different oil for mine( in the past). Wow that's so fascinating to see everyone in the family pitch in to create a fence to protect the garden! It's all worth it and I know that there is progress made! 🦾🦾🦾🦾That was so cool to see the progress made on the eldest son's room!🔨🔧🌃 It will have to be the youngest son's room next!🤭There are so many wonderful and healthy ingredients going into your fermented vegetables!🥒🥕🧂🌿 I've got to making try it also, as soon as I can! Love the oil🍋🍈🍊🌺🌿 shelf too! It's like a breath of fresh air with the Before/After picture of the living/kitchen area-what a difference!! Take care!🤗
