in the regular show universe, spice is like drugs, wings are like beer, peppers and hot sauce are like hard liquor and the missisipi queen is acid.

I always laughed at the fact that this dude managed to make a drink that ALWAYS makes you hallucinate Mountain's Mississippi queen. like that's so specific, is he some sort of alchemist

This show feels like if adult swim writers challenged themselves to make a PG show

Depending on how you see it, Regular Show is either a kids show that is very close to “adult show” territory, or it’s an adult show all along that just happens to be suitable for kids. Either way, Regular Show has done an excellent job of bringing in these adult show elements in a channel that’s meant for kids shows

Funny thing. This episode was the most 'regular' one out there.

I love that the ingredients for the insanely hot drink are apparently chocolate syrup, soy sauce, mayonnaise, kimchi, pasta sauce, a bunch of oysters from a paper bag, and a plate of what looks like sushi and shrimp... as far as I know only one of those is even a little bit spicy

If they won't come to the Mountain, the Mountain will come to them.

I love how every episode has to have something out-of-this-world to happen, and this is the most realistic thing that could happen to them.

“Why do they call it Mississippi Queen?”

This is one of the most accurate representations I've ever seen of what it feels like to try and get home when you're way too smashed. It had all of the random jumps/lapses, remembering the atmosphere of a scene instead of the details, and the bit with the girls getting concerned and calling them a ride was a cherry on top.

Mississippi Queen in 2010s: haha a sentient racoon bluejay and a gumball machine drink extra spicy cocktail
The moment the Mississippi Queen touched his beak, Mordecai would be transformed into a human named Josh

This show was the only kids show that had enough balls to essentially show drugs, alcohol, and straight up guns. Needless to say it paid off in strides
