Great video and pleased that you visited and enjoyed our town. Just a slight correction the Town Hall is actually community-owned and is a fantastic place for exhibitions, events, food and local businesses. The community raised £3.7m to refurbish the old Town Hall and build a new extension. Hope you get better weather next time you come

I'm a Lancastrian living just over the border and a 20 mins drive to Hebden Bridge. We go there quite often as it's a favourite place for any visitors I have staying with me. We're never disappointed and certainly do better with the weather than you did!! Never come home empty-handed either as there's always something you feel you must buy from one of the wonderful artisan shops. Love the very bones of the place. Thank you for a very informative video. On your next visit the shortish walk along the canal towards Todmorden for lunch at the Stubbing Wharf is highly recommended. This pub was washed out during the floods a few years ago uniquely situated as it is between the higher level canal above and the river below. It was out of commission for well over a year and has been restored to a high spec. Good parking too. Looking forward to your next video.

What a superb production and presentation. Hebden looked great in the Pennine rain, but do come back on a sunny day, it then becomes sublime.

A well written and delivered guide to a town near which I live (I'm in Keighley) but about which I knew shamefully little before this - I must get myself over there for a proper wander about instead of just using it to park the car and head for the nearby hills!

Love the vlog. I was born in Hebden Bridge, living at a place called Buttress Brink at the bottom of the cobblestone road up to Heptonstall. My mother was one of the people who worked making trousers at Dunkley's Mill. Love how the place has turned out, i have many memories growing up there and now live in Grange over Sands and New Zealand

It still has its cinema, which nearby Todmorden does not. I used to be a relief projectionist at another council owned cinema, the 68 seat David Lean Cinema in Croydon. Hebden Bridge is also said to be the most lesbian friendly town in Britain. You mentioned the closure of the old industries and the cheap property prices which attracted the artists, hippies etc. But Hebden Bridge has a darker side to its past. From 1939 to about 1970 Cape processed asbestos at Acre Mill on the hill above the town, and for many years after the mill closed the area was a hotspot for asbestos related disease. A sad time in the history of what is now such a nice town. Soon after Acre Mill closed two television programmes were made about it and the people who worked there, ‘The Dust at Acre Mill’ and ‘Alice - Fight for Life’. Both are on KZfaq.

Hi, this is really interesting - thank you so much for watching my video and sharing your input It's certainly an area with a lot of history, I'd not heard about the asbestos - that is very sad 😥

For me it’s the little independent shops and the very friendly people, plus the fact that most shops are dog friendly too, that make it very special, only 20 minutes from where I live, we go there and to Haworth often, proper Yorkshire ❤

I was a Happy Valley fan and the show has inspired me to visit this beautiful area. Do you know when a good time of year to visit would be? Not too cold or hot and not too rainy ?

Hiya, well this is England so the weather is unpredictable, we went in summer and I was really hoping it would be nice....we still enjoyed it though despite the rain.....I'd say perhaps go for September 🤔

Haha yes I've heard some stories about the darker side of Hebden 😬 to be fair so many towns in England have been ruined by drugs, it's really sad to see
