JLG had such great trailers. Je me souviens the great "Contempt" trailer created by the director hisself.

Outside of a few best-known films (Breathless, Alphaville, et al) that most libraries have, I find it frustratingly difficult to find his movies like this one from the '60s. They are never on TV/cable and are rarely in the art house theaters. A few are in expensive DVD collections.

Ah, now I remember weekend. Amazing movie. It's the Godard twin to T's Fahrenheit.

Watched the criterion DVD last night. I loved it but I could have lived without the dead rabbit. Nonetheless you can see where harmony korine, Tarantino and Wes Anderson took a bunch of ideas. Fin De CInema.

Nadia John don’t be fooled, the movie is much darker and radical than this trailer let’s on (I know this comment is five years later, so if you still haven’t seen the movie, I suggest not reading anything beforehand). Anderson definitely took influence from Godard, as well as Rohmer, Varda, Resnais and Demy. He’s like a Quentin Tarantino mashup director, except he’s largely influenced by Nouvelle Vague and Left Bank Group directors where Tarantino is more of a drive in, exploitation cinema mashup. director.

The film's alright, certainly not Godard's best, but that drumming is AMAZING!

They made us watch this at university and I hated it. At the end of the screening, the lecturer stood up and said "Okay, who hated that?" Practically everyone's hand went up. "That means it worked," he said. It was at that precise moment that I realised I didn't want to work in film.
