Thank you, I am really trying things that are super easy to grow and take care of themselves in my conditions. Though I will always include annuals for fun.

I do the same thing with my CA poppies. I hate to pull them up when they are blooming! 😊 Once they have finished blooming I cut them back to about 6-8” and they will get new leaves and bloom again! Mine even winter over in my zone 10a garden. They die down to the ground but the big fat tap root lives thru to the next spring!

Wow, sounds great. Some in the beds I will chop back and see what happens but the pathway ones will get booted.

The red poppies in my garden took over and I didn’t thin enough. So crowded and will need to be better at deadheading. The foxgloves I finally was successful with are gorgeous. Never grew them before and will let them reseed. Love watching the giant bumbles crawl in each one. Agree about sunburn on tomatoes if pruned. I don’t have time to do single leader and I don’t want that much work. I once let a tomato do whatever in a cage and it was the healthiest one of all. Someone recently said they stopped topping peppers also. The fruit/veg do get larger if there are fewer, but at cost of production. Love the tour! I’m sure it’s more gorgeous in person as I’ve found photos can only do so much. The pansies photographed nice with the frosty foliage mixed in. I’m writing down stuff I did, need to do and what’s blooming. It’s nice info for next year. 🎉💃👏🏼 I organized the shed yesterday and got all the seedling stuff out of the house and trays/pots together-just wished they were all washed 😂 maybe on a hot day this week I’ll get the pressure washer out. I think next year I will start the veg seedlings later and by pass the mess in the house.

I am rethinking what I start early as well. Some things I did not have time to get potted up or in the ground and are suffering, which means they may not recover so it wasn't worth it in the long run. Though I do enjoy it in the depths of winter. Maybe next year I will take a cruise to the Bahamas instead (wishful thinking)

@@FlowerPatchFarmhouse well, maybe somewhere other than Bahamas if Russia is moving into Cuba. But I know, these winters we need to keep our spirits up. I just planted the last of sea holly in an area near back field. It was being taken over by nettles and thistles-not something I care to look at-just put a temp fence around most of it from recycled fencing as I see the deer have visited. It should keep them at bay. Sprinkled blood meal around to keep rabbits out. I still have some annuals and a few veg to get out. Trying to get the heavy work done and mulching as we are heading into 90s. I thought we could use up some older seed I collected from last couple years and I could use only half 😅 of what I had and it looks like a chia pet with all the zinnias and sunflowers 🌻. I did this in a small area a couple years ago and it was so beautiful especially when the evening sun hit it. Love the bright lights cosmos with sunflowers. This area is about 25x30’ and will need to monitor nettles. I loved all the rain and we are out of drought but Man the mosquitoes like we’ve never had before-can’t handle it! Zapper went up today as well as the Japanese beetle traps. I’m dumping anything I find with water and covering rain tanks and cleaned birdbaths. They are hatching from somewhere. Let’s hope it’s just a first hatch and they are done.

Sure looks beautiful! Very cottagey! Suits your area and personality and that’s what gardening is all about. Yes, I just heard that about pruning or removing suckers from tomatoes, if fact you should leave the suckers so that if your tomatoe gets broken a sucker can become the lead stalk. I am planting tomatoes for the first time in years, what is the best distance to space them at? Do you use tomatoe cages? I don’t understand Foxgloves at all. So if I bought a blooming one this year it would drop seed. The original one would not bloom next year because it is biennial and the seeded ones wouldn’t bloom because it is its first year… so I have lots of foxgloves but no blooms? 🤷🏻‍♀️ I just don’t get it!😂😂 Anyway, I will buy some this year and have to buy some next year I guess, I absolutely adore them!! Yours are just beautiful!! Thanks Pam, nice relaxing video ❤️ Brenda🇨🇦

If you have plants growing they will bloom next year, there are some varieties that do bloom the first year but many will not until the second. But they do reseed readily, and I let them, you will have them every year. You can leave the orginal and see what it does, I have had the rebloom the second year. The apricot ones by the back fence bloomed last year, though not much, then bloomed even better this year. With all the cross breeding they do it is hard to say what will happen. I space my tomatoes about 3 feet apart. In the Bespoke Greenhouse they are a little closer and I do prune them a little. The ones outside are 3 feet apart and yes I do use cages, it just works best for me.

Beautiful! Are you close enough to Annie’s that you can visit in person? That would be an expensive trip I’m sure vs ordering online

Yes, and I have a video of one of my visits. It is about a 3 hour drive but it is no too far from Filoli where I also love to visit. My husband and I have been talking about making another weekend trip down that way again soon.

I looked around too and though I know I included it in a video it wasn't in the title. I think it was part of one of the updates or tours, which was dumb as now I can't find it either, but here is the blog post with a couple photos of the seeds and some instructions. www.flowerpatchfarmhouse.com/grow-geraniums-from-seed-pelargoniums/ I hope this helps.
