Weekly Vlog # 301: A Dutch Fabric Market | RIP noisy kettle

Hi everyone
welcome back to another slice of my weekly waffling, I hope you've
all had a good week. If its your first time stopping by the channel, thank you
and you are most welcome!
Its been a busy old week, so much so that I've cut it short a little otherwise you'd be here for hours. The good news is if you're not sick of me by the end, there's a podcast up on the Woven Almanac channel. I'll put the link
below.
So we wanted to support our friend's new business venture so off we went to Utrecht but on the proviso that this time we went early so I could visit Utrecht's famous lapjesmarkt which is basically a very large fabric market. I only zipped through it was the mission was to buy fabric to make cushions for the boat but I loved it and will certainly be going back! We rounded off the trip with some yummy treats from the Lekker Store.
I also went to the office during the week which is always nice to catch up with colleagues. However, I am feeling a bit tired and realizing I've not taken any time off this year, I booked a long weekend. Natalie and I had a girl's
day in Haarlem which was lovely and I also got a few things for King's Day which is the 27 April. I'll catch you up on what we do for King's Day in next week's vlog.

Isn't it fabulous Laura. I've got enough to do a few things with it, I fancy doing a bit of embroidery or quilting with a little bit of it 🤞😘😘

That was quite a busy week! I enjoy catching up on your daily life and listening to your chat - it doesn’t matter how trivial or waffly it might seem, you are just lovely company! I loved the market at the beginning, and I’m glad you had a good day in Haarlem, especially finding that the coat you fancied was in the sale! x

The markets look amazing Dawn, and beautiful blue skies. The fabric looks nice, will make brilliant cushions for the boat. The old famous Dutch masters fabric is really nice. Love the shades of all you cottons and for that price. Your new kettle is very similar to ours, great taste. Xxxxx

Hi Dawn, I spotted the Old Masters fabric when you were showing the market stall and I just KNEW you'd buy some lol. The post office fabric is perfect for the new boat cushions, as is the microfibre inners because you don't want wet, mouldy feathers in your new beautiful cushions! The "not so noisy" kettle was a good buy and I like the grey. Love your new jacket, our Zara seems to only stock miniscule and tiny clothes, and you really suit the colour. I hope you wore your orange hairband with style and had a great King's Day, they even showed information about it on our news. Hope you got the pressure reduced on your sleep machine xx

I do love Utrecht! When you had the footage of the lapjesmarkt I saw that fabric with the old Dutch Masters and thought “Oh that looks like something Dawn would like!”. Lo and behold when you showed what you had bought there was that fabric again! I also loved the red with white dots! That’s a really “Linda fabric”! Tot ziens. Salam wa sa’aadah

Ahh, nice you went to the Lapjesmarkt. Love the coat, it suits you well! I really like the smell of (most) incense sticks, but I always get headachy when I burn one in the house. So I stick (no pun intended) to a water diffuser and essential oil drops, so I can dose the amount of scent myself. I hope you had a nice Kingsday with friends! Mine was quite relaxing. Love that jacket, and haha you've managed to enable me to look at - and subsequently purchase - a Smeg kettle 😂. Can temperature match perfectly to my oolong tea...can't wait!! 🍵 ☕️ 🫖

Great vlog as usual!! You are so lucky to have cool weather , here in NY it’s already hot, 80 today, I absolutely detest the summer😂😂, congrats on the new kettle, I bought a toaster oven air fryer combo , it’s beautiful but have no idea how to use it, I have found a knitting pattern, the Waterlands cardigan by Lotta Lothgren-, and ordered yarn for it from Farmers Daughter!!

Hello! I love Dawn’s Days but rarely comment - sorry! Love The Netherlands so much and love the content. Memories of pretty much every year having family holidays at Landal Coldenhove from 2001 to 2019…kids grown now, but I WILL get back sometime :)
