You spoke some words with this post sis!!! As a community "elder" (i.e. in my mid 50s) I resolved that I will NOT have anyone in my life who diminished the quality of my life. You don't have to add to it (after 11 years of a toxic marriage, I have built a high-quality life on my own), but you absolutely cannot take away from the comfort, peace and serenity I have created for my life. I'm so proud of the younger generations of strong women who set the rules for their lives in the prime of their lives.

I tell women all the time if you knew how valuable your peace is you wouldn't be allowing just anyone into your sphere disturbing your peace. Some women think they have to sacrifice their peace to have a man but they find out the hard way IT'S NOT WORTH IT!!! I've had married women tell me marriage is sacrifice and if you want to be married you will end up doing most of the sacrificing (I don't want to be married). As a divorced woman I can honestly say having a man disturb my peace was not worth the sacrifice! I'm so happy young women are placing a high value on their peace and are not allowing just anyone in their life disturbing their peace. Continue on your journey sweetie and continue to search for that man who will add to your live and not drain or take away from your life. You have a God given gift to sniff out peace suckers so continue to use it to find that life partner if that's what you want.
