Welcome to my channel! In today's comprehensive video, I will show you the optimal process of manufacturing a printed circuit board (PCB) using a prototyping machine. Whether you're interested in homemade PCB prototyping or professional PCB manufacturing, this video will guide you step by step through the entire process.
Firstly, we will delve into the PCB design phase. I'll demonstrate how to prepare the PCB design using popular software and provide key tips for ensuring your design is easily processed by the PCB prototyping machine.
Next, we will focus on the setup of the CNC milling machine specifically designed for PCB production. I'll explain how to properly connect the tool, calibrate the axes, and select the optimal parameters for milling the PCB. You'll find my instructions straightforward and easy to follow.
Once the machine is ready, we'll move on to the actual PCB fabrication process. I'll guide you through the steps of preparing the board, applying the necessary layers, and performing the required milling operations. You'll learn techniques for achieving high precision and quality in your homemade PCB.
Towards the end of the video, we'll cover quality control and final adjustments. I'll show you how to conduct a thorough inspection of the manufactured PCB, address any potential errors, and apply protective coatings for long-term durability.
Whether you're interested in milling double-layer PCBs or want to explore the possibilities of professional CNC engraving machines, this video has got you covered. Join my channel, hit the like button if you find this video helpful, and don't hesitate to share your experiences and questions in the comments section.

The only problem with this milling technology is that the remaining copper chunks between the actual routes become capacitor and indicator at higher frequencies. These unwanted capacitors and indicators become completely unacceptable and the circuit response will be totally wrong. Other than this issue, if you want to implement a design at low frequency, it's perfect imop
@leonardosabino2002

This is only a problem for sensitive circuits like RF (radio frequency) and capacitive touch sense. For 98% of circuits, leaving the extra copper in the board makes no difference.

@TheoPur
@TheoPur Жыл бұрын
They could have also tried to stitch the floating copper to ground using vias but considering they had to rivet each via it would be time consuming. I am not even sure if they had a ground plane on the back side and if they did they cut it up too much with all the plane hops/traces on the back. Notice how they ended up having to tilt the RF module off the board even though there was a cutout for the pcb antenna. That board is probably producing a lot of EMI considering all the floating copper that is around like you mentioned. You could argue it doesn’t matter for digital or low speed circuits but with rise times decreasing and they wanted to put an RF module with pcb antenna, they should have followed more signal integrity guidelines when doing the layout.

@andreapiccini23
@andreapiccini23 Жыл бұрын
@@GuilhermeGomes2 can be replaced with anyone you want, if i remember correctly, spindle diameter is 3.75mm , any drill compatible with this size would be ok. Price is high but i assure you that with a normal CNC lost time to set it up is much longer! At the same time is convenient if you have a company or work for/on it and you need fast prototyping, if not, a normal CNC like 3018 (200€) , with fine tuning, can reach the same results ..

That build plate is overexposed for a reason. They are hiding the damage that will be inevitable from trimming the board. Also, ask yourself why you never see the surface finish of the copper after the solder mask is etched all in one take. (they aren't even blowing the debris away with the air nozzle you can see in the shot) They have meticulously finished each pad by hand to give it an unrealistically smooth surface finish. Resetting that board on the build plate (not to mention leveling it) would be a right pain in the ass. Also, you cant hear it... fucker will be loud.

@chubbchubbist
@chubbchubbist 2 жыл бұрын
The build plate is untouched. you usually use a 'sacrificial' board on any cnc that can be easily replaced. They have a video of the copper after the solder mask is machined off by the cnc, it's not super clean but it looks much smoother and has a much better finish after tinning, as they show above. When putting the board back on for secondary machining, you don't autolevel again, you use the same profile as when you did the primary machining, the board hasn't gone through any process to warp its profile so it will have the same profile as before. The motor has a whining sound, but you can quite easily have a conversation right next to it without straining,
