My experience being 2 weeks out from surgery and what I am learning about myself all over again. What has helped, what I still have answers on, and what is working.

My surgeon told me to never chew gum because you swallow air. No gulping of fluids, to use a sippy type cup. So many changes to adapt to. You are doing great.

I would definitely follow your surgeons advice for sure! Do everything he tells you to do. He knows what’s best for the surgery he’s giving you. It’s true- there are so many changes to adapt to and some are easier than others but it’s just a change in a great quality of life. Thank you for the support!

You are looking great. So happy to see that your surgery went well and you are on your way. Wishing you the best success. A good friend uses probiotics to help to keep her regular. If you haven’t found her channel it’s Hasta Cielo y mas and she is a great resource and supporter. 16 lbs is amazing.

Glad to hear your doing great. I hear you about those hiccups I was like oh my lawd. Im on soft and pretty much can tolerate guacamole if i smash the avocados myself, I have had a cpl baby spoonfuls of mash, how are you able to get shrimp down. I have hard time trying to get potted meat down. Oh and anything with skin like refried beans I have to make sure there is no skin of beans what soever. I need to work on my protein Love the water bottle I was just going to take a marker and label a water bottle I had to try and keep me on track. I will hopefully do my video tomorrow. since being home from hospital I have felt better but ugh the tightness feeling like swelling inside is horrible feeling but I cant wait till I can be cleared to do more than walking I think that will help. Btw your looking glamorous you can tell on your face def your slimming keep it up girl. 2018 is going to be the year to Rock the whole new you

Switched Rican THANK YOU!!!! Seriously it's been interesting this whole thing. I'm constantly wondering if I am doing things right but they just say everyone is different and I've had no problems getting things down- for me it's with how much. I don't have much room so that's where I hit my stopping points. It does definitely help to walk though- it's been nice and I feel more and more energetic. Thank you so much for your kind comments, I appreciate it and I sure do hope this next year I'm able to rock a whole new me. I am totally looking forward to it- AS YOU SHOULD BE TOO!!!

Chewing gum has always given me the burps. You are doing great. I have found that as my calories have increased, my weight loss has also gotten better. I very much agree with you on eating healthy and avoiding the simpler carbs. My problem is I was raised on meat, starch and a veggie. My solution is cauliflower taters and rice, zoodles which are much healthier carbs. I have also done the "miracle" noodles but they are a chore to get the funky smell out of them. I do try very hard to keep my carbs under 50 net carbs and do pretty well with that. My advice is to meal plan, that really helps me stay on track.

I couldn't agree more! Meal planning has helped me in a pinch for sure. Thank you for your comments and letting me know how you are doing as well! Thank you!

The tube they pulled out of your side what the crap is that??? That makes me nervous because i am about to have this done in November.
@GinaMarieUT5 жыл бұрын
Ariel titsworth Honestly, not all doctors use that method- so I would check. It helps with the surgery some how. I didn’t ask and just trusted the process. I should have though. It helped release a lot of excess liquid but I’m not sure why.

How are you doing today? I'm getting the duodenal switch in November hopefully
@GinaMarieUT3 жыл бұрын
Lori Ann Kruithof I’m doing great! Never better. I’ve stopped the drastic loss of weight and I’m now just staying consistent but bc I still want to lose 25-ish lbs, I’m starting to get more serious about watching what I eat. I still struggle to lose weight but definitely not like before. You have to put effort in but it helps that the surgery gave me a huge push.

Do you have IG!!

Holly Bowens That’s awesome. Yah- I kept it super soft foods after my surgery- I was just amazed on how I could feel my body heal itself. That’s awesome. I’m always intrigued with different doctors approaches. I do have an Instagram although I’m not on it a ton- you’re more than welcome to add me, it’s gina_marie_utah
