Nice vid! A thought I had for the app was to add something similar to the oll/pll timers on the jperm website, like a “practice” mode where you can time just f2l, and seperate OLL and PLL cases each with the appropriate scrambles

Yes! That is something that many have also asked foe in the group, and MoYu is planning to implement this in the future!

I am really very negatively surprised about this long awaited smart cube. I have been using the GAN 12UI FREEPLAY and GAN 11 Mini freeplay for a long time - and these cubes really are the best of the best (even if they are far too expensive). However, the original is a GAN 11 UV or GAN 12 PRO UV, which cost around €60 when new and is used as the main cube by the top SpeedCubers. The fact that Moyu once again has the cheek to create an overpriced Smart Cube from a cheap standard cube, which does not meet the high quality of the flagship, is really extremely shameful. The base should be a WRM V10 UV 20Mag BallCore and not the cheap standard spring version. I'm really glad I didn't click on it today - that would have been a huge mistake. It's a shame, but once again typical of Moyu (see 99 euros for the Super Edition)

I think it’s the 20 magnet ball core spring version but with the old 8 magnet ball core from the super rs3 ys3 wrm v9 super rs3 v2 rs3v5 and others that you may have think of this as picube shop special wrm v9

Plus they cannot use maglev in smart cubes idk why but not even gan does that on their $120 smart cube

@@americancow598where did you find out the GAN 12 ui doesn’t have maglev? I tried to find out a while back, because I have both the 12 maglev and 12 ui freeplay, and wanted to figure out why they don’t feel the same. I thought it was mostly due to the 12ui having weaker magnets in general, but wasn’t sure if it actually used maglev or springs

@@americancow598 Surely you could just swap out the springs for maglev yourself, couldn't you? Still it's weird that no manufacturers just make a maglev smart cube; They're expensive enough that a few dollars more for maglev won't make much difference. Maybe the magnets screw with the electronics or something? Seems unlikely, but it's the only plausible reason I can think of.

Using version 2.0.7_0aR. As far as the app software goes, it needs a lot of work. The 'Timing' section is not set up for the smart cube! The scramble has to be done to the cube first with no indication that it has been applied to the cube correctly and the timer has to be started and stopped manually. Basically it's useless for a smart cube. It should show the cube and automatically recognise the turns with live representation image of the cube and give a breakdown of the data after each solve. Edited: the 'Cube Practice' is what I was looking for so ignore this part. The 'Time Trial' section. Again after each solve in both sections I would like to see the time distribution of the solve, Cross time, F2L time for each pair, OLL and PLL. I don't want to start pressing icons looking for this data, it show immediately show up after each solve. That's what I want from a smart cube. Instead I have to click of a graph icon then a data icon to see the information. What's all this swipe settings in the settings Gameplay about, can you cover it in your software video? I'd like to see better graphical representation of my TPS, Times.., ao100, ao1,000, lifetime stats... Ability to download the data and stats of solves would be good. Ability to change the look of the timer would be good. The cube itself is decent but they could have been a lot better to beat the Gan 12ui. The magnets are extremely weak in the Moyu and it doesn't auto-align or hold it's shape well. They could have made it with more, stronger adjustable magnets better auto-alignment system and a more premium feel. It still is pretty good though but just fell short behind the Gan on this one. They really need to make the next smart cube the best they can. I'm sure there's a lot more that can be done to improve it and make the app itself better but I'm tired now. Looking forward to your more in depth video on the software 🙂👍 Edited: I just found the ' Cube Practise' under the 'Training' section which is what I was looking for and what I would normally use 90% of the time. It defaults to yellow top instead of white. Also It does show the breakdown of stats which is great! The with it is problem is it shows skip, skip, skip, skip in every field, ocasionally showing one field with data. Cross shows the time for the complete solve on one solve I did so very weird behaviour!

Yeah, the features are a bit confusing, and the big thing for me is that it lacks good statistics. I'm trying to get Moyu to make some changes before making a video haha

@@antoineccantin Yeah hopefully they can make some improvements to make it more usable and enjoyable. Clear, accurate stats are a big part of the reason to use smart cubes especially in the long term. Yeah and it would certainly need to make changes as it will help you to promote and showcase their app when making your video 👍

Nice to see someone with soo many cubes, can you tell me if the AI version use the same caps of the normal V10? i was thinking about get one but the price difference for the smart UV is the price of the cheap V10 with UV, make me thinking if i could buy the non UV AI version and a cheap V10 with UV and change the caps so i can end with a smart UV cube and a non UV that i could give to anyone interested

Could the cube be helpful for learning and practicing 4 Look Last Layer (4LLL, or both 2 Look OLL and PLL) and F2L? I struggle to leverage video guides

How have you found tracking, especially on M Slices for roux? Since that’s been main issue I’ve had on the smart cubes I’ve used in past.

So it supports reconstructions for Roux (will identify FB, SB, CMLL, LSE) but unfortunately expresses everything as outer turns.

Performance-wise, are the magnets on the v10 ai weaker than those on the v10 BC maglev? And is the auto-alignment worse too? Because I’ve found that’s the case for the GAN 12 vs 12 ui :/

I think it depends on if you prefer the Gan 12 or Weilong v10! I think at this point I've heard more people prefering the Weilong v10, but after all it's up to personal preference.

Are there distributions on the time you have spent on each step? For example 1 sec on cross, 5 sec on f2l, etc.

I have one as well, and I was wondering if you were having the same issue as me with the software. Sometimes when you try and start the scramble / halfway through a scramble, the scramble disappears, and the app thinks you are still scrambling. I've had to start a new solve / dnf the current solve to continue when this happens.

This is a bug from the previous release which should have been fixed in the current release. The app doesn't automatically update and unfortunately requires you to manually uninstall and reinstall to update, I suggest you do that.

Is the charging box can store charge for the cube? If so, how many charges can it hold before we need to plug usb c back in ?

From what I’ve heard, it doesn’t also act as a charging bank, so it can’t charge the cube unless it’s plugged in

Yeah, personally I think regular is fine, especially goven the big difference in cost. But, if you really like UV and have the money to spend of course you can go for it!
