Thank you for doing what you do! I'm really glad someone is working to preserve these.

my dad still forever quotes the AFN commercial of a couple having a date night and the guy's making chicken parmesan while singing "parmigiano, parmigiano" and a neighbor keeps banging on the wall yelling "KEEP IT DOWN!" so the guy sings softer and softer until the neighbor breaks in and announces he means they should keep down the cholesterol and then he takes over cooking and makes them eggplant parmesan instead. what a truly insane AFN commercial that was played on almost every single day in early 00s germany

Don't think I remember that one, but it sounds incredible, peak AFN. I wonder if it's on KZfaq anywhere... It's so funny how quotable AFN commercials were, but almost nobody would understand what it was a reference to outside of your family. A blessing and a curse!

I'm always looking for the "Oh, no, don't mail those explosives" AFN commercial. I'd love to see that one again.

I’m an Air Force brat who grew up in Europe. As a kid I had to get used to watching SpongeBob in German. Every time I would watch it or any Cartoon Network shows on AFN, it would be a treat. As with probably most of y’all, I miss those days. The reason why I’m here is because I’m looking for the AFN commercial with the guy from Texas playing guitar and I’m looking for the one where an office worker is throwing printers from the roof.

I lived in Belgium in 2010-2012 cause my dad was stationed there and I remember one day, two normal commercials came on somehow and my sister and I freaked out

It is surreal watching Tad explain general military knowledge in order to give context to whacky commercials, I now regret not seeing if they had AFN on in TLF.

I’m so glad other remember AFN. Being a military kid, this channel was PEAK. I’ve been commenting this a bit, but I’m looking for an ad where a solider is driving in the car with a dummy/mannequin, and it’s about not playing loud music in the car. Hopefully I’ll find it one day!

I knew the guys who made the "Styrofoam cup" Comercial they were good buddies of mine while I was stationed at Kadena AB in Okinawa. They made a couple of different ads featuring those same characters.

Hey man I recently found your channel, and I really like it. If you can some time can you do a retrospective of an underrated comic series called Calvin and hobbs?.
@TadIGuess Жыл бұрын
I always loved Calvin, would love to make a video on it eventually!

TAD! Thank you for introducing us to the television arm of the AFN! While we had heard of the radio division of AFN, who knew such weird "propaganda" existed on television? Why did the programming not just consist of endless episodes of Major Dad? God bless!

Ohhh the nostalgia as a former military "brat" watching AFN in Japan and Korea.
@Cargo_Bay Жыл бұрын
My nostalgia 😂 sometimes they had “commercials” that had a little higher budget (didn’t look like a soldier filmed on base). Wish I could find the one where the mom got a call that her husband was gonna be late again and yelled at her son: “DANNY! GET that book bag off the counter!”

These were such a throwback! Do you know if you can find those commercials on AFN where it would be a state quiz with someone explaining details about their state, and then at the end, they’d say the capital and state? Ive been scavenging for that commercial for so long
@TadIGuess Жыл бұрын
WOW, I had completely forgotten about these somehow!! Another great staple of AFN, I remember they had some city and country quizzes as well. Sure enough, the afrtsfan channel has a whole playlist full of them: kzfaq.info/sun/PLCKVH-o_gjxjeD0r6mEabBym1JlzSC_7z

That's so weird that they managed to fit so many of those ad breaks in rather than just having no breaks, or short breaks of, say, a minute between programming (unless that's what they actually were), seems like there was fortunately quite a lot of funny stuff in those gaps tho lol Garfield reference [real] RIP 3DS E-Shop since yesterday (I think that maybe when this video was uploaded was when it was taken down even) When ppl didn't listen to the AFN chicken :noooo: Woah Tad's lost media hunt Castles are cool tbf

Do they still do those commercials or did they learn from their mistake?
