I’ve always been impressed at how down to earth and unassuming Weird Al is. The dude has basically been an American cultural institution for 30 years and still acts like like he’s just happy to be there. I admire that type of humility.

Weird Al helped me get through my childhood. I was raised in an apocalypse cult, and they were super strict about music, movies, any media really. Because Weird Al was funny and didn't swear, i was allowed to listen to his music. He helped me stay aware of both cultural attitudes and trends through the content of his music, and brought modern music into my home so that i knew what the music others were listening to sounded like. It made me laugh and made me feel less alone. Thank you, Weird Al.

I seen him live in 2006. He changed costumes about 25 times during the show, and hit some of the most phenomenal notes I've ever heard. Weird Al is a proper artist with Incredible talent. Plus his interviews with Madonna, Eminem, and K Fed slaughter me.

It's kind of upsetting to hear that people associated his music with a lot of the profane and racist parodies of songs that have been made. Al's parodies have always been unique in that they were never vulgar or overtly offensive. It was good, clean comedy that still managed to be hilarious. Al is a legend.

I was working at a restaurant about 15 years ago and Al's group came in when they were in town. He was really quiet and let the group have fun. He was EXREMELY nice to us/staff. getting to meet a childhood hero like him, and have him be a cool as he was, is still one of the coolest experiences of my life!!

I met Weird Al after one of his concerts. He was giving out free autographs and he let his fans walk right up to him in line. When I told him that my dad has been a fan since he was a kid and I have been a fan since I was a kid too, he said "Thanks so much". Just him saying that made me so happy. He was so nice and genuine. He's a good guy.

I only knew Weird Al from some of his parody songs and was always really casual, never went above an admitation because I really want to learn the accordion and he's like. An icon. But this man is such a delight to watch he genuinely seems like such a cool guy!!! The "I THOUGHT WE WERE FRIENDS" killed me XD He seems very endearing :))

Weird Al is my favorite musician of all time, and the only "proper" concert I have ever attended. 😀 I'm one of those that usually hears Weird Al's version of the song long before I hear the original. Countless great parodies and fun for all ages. I even got to meet him once, and while he is SO BUSY, he still was cordial and kind to everyone. Great interview, Sean. (:

I used to sit at my mom and dad's dining room table with my transistor radio and a cassette recorder, and record the Doctor Demento show and Weird Al was my favorite. I would then listen to that tape again and again until Doctor Demento came on again the following week. Al, if there's any remote possibility that you are reading this, I want to express my sincerest thank you for your laughs throughout the years. Your songs have gotten me through some rough times. My good buddy was the lighting designer on one of his tours. Typically the talent goes off to do their own thing in their downtime but Al genuinely enjoyed the company of his crew and would hang out and eat meals with them more than anything else. He's just a really sweet, nerdy, good hearted man who never let his success change him. He just does his thing and is thrilled it makes people happy.

Sean Evans is such a great interviewer. He does his research, and he does it deep enough that sometimes the people responding are like, wow, let me think about that while I manage this wing that I'm eating as you ask me questions. It's a great format, and he's a great interviewer.

I just love how confident Weird Al is with himself that he doesn’t feel the need to “show off” or “compete” with Sean or any other guests regarding eating the wings. He takes the small bites and doesn’t care for adding the dab at the end.

It feels fake, to me. He's yelling like the wings are taking over but not sweating, panting, you know - doing any of the actual things you do when eating spicy things (let alone crazy spicy things.) This is a performance, and it's a fake. Al's great. Don't twist it - he's a legend and all of that, but this episode is cringe.

I saw him in concert about 1985 at Vally Fair in Minnesota. It was the most energetic show I've ever seen. He jumped and ran around so much he had sweat flinging from his hair by the end of the first song. It was amazing.

those small bites are called "tv bites" in the industry. It's so you can talk properly without a bunch of food falling out of your mouth. Also it seems Al was afraid of the hot sauce a bit.

Sorry, but Weird Al 'wimped out' here... Makes me sad really... It would have been great episode if he'd done it as the show is intended.

@@vaprex I would say the point of the show is the sauce more than the wing and Al did taste the sauce. You could replace the wing with a chip and it wouldn't make a difference because it's about reacting to the sauce which he did react to. It may not be like other celebrities but to be honest who wants to actual have flaming diarrhea later on?

Side note I've always found her annoying af but gained some mad respect after the hot ones. But now all of these icons I grew up with barely touching their tongues to the wings depresses the fuck out of me. Ruins the show...the point is to get rekt by the wings and risk shitting your pants on TV. Otherwise this is just a normal interview show with slightly better than average questions.
