His distance management is highest tier. That's how he hurts people so bad. He stays at the exact right distance for maximum impact. He's champ now too btw. He won the fight they were saying was upcoming. He knocked Aljamain Sterling out to get the belt. Dude is a monster.

When O'Malley looked back real quick he was faking a spin kick or spinning back fast.

when he does a spin move his head moves first, so turning his head quickly like that is like feinting a spin move. very unorthodox but it works and sets up those techniques

He won that fight where he was limping because the opponent stupidly took him down. On the ground an injured leg isnt as big of a deal as standing. The opponent should have forced him to stand an bang. Its basically impossible to strike if one of your legs is so badly hurt you cannot even step on it. Keep in mind if one fighter wants to stand and strike the other fighter is forced to stand based on the rules. If you want to fight on the ground you have to force your opponent to the ground. You cannot just lie on the ground asking your opponent to grapple with you. Since O'Malley was ahead on the scorecards in the fight the opponent needed to finish him. Instead he took him down and didnt get to finish O'Malley.

So many people call that Yan fight a robbery but it was just a CLOSE fight. Yan won Rd2, Sean won Rd3. Rd1 was the flop. Couldve went either way. Sean landed the more damaging shots, which is the judging criteria, but Yan landed the big takedown, although he didnt do anything with it.

O’Malley’s evolution as a fighter has gotta be the craziest in ufc history. Idk if anyone has improved so much in their ufc tenure ever. He became more composed, technical, and used his time off to build muscle. People forget the dude said he was like 140 cutting to 135 in that contender series fight. I will say his growth has made me legitimately question whether he was taking PEDs when he got popped or not, but either way doesn’t change the fact that he has gotten visibly better to the point where even my “untrained eyes” can see it. I don’t even think jones improved that much in his career.
