Long time SA viewer here! Nice to see us mentioned! Spinning can be very strange and everything, but very interesting, and crazy! We have plenty plenty other insane car cultures here in SA to check out too. SA is fine safety wise as long as you're not doing dumb things. As you said, get locals (cough cough) to help you out and we would be more than welcome! Spinning is normally included in other Motorsport events around too, so lots to see and do.

Wow watching CB for years now and to see he love South Africa spinning and want to visit South Africa give me goosebumps and makes me proud.. Yeah being the top of your field in automotive does make you connected, I don’t have a big KZfaq channel but I am restoring a car for the owner of the BTS Skytrain and another car for the owner of Singah so I have no worries about police trouble or someone ever messing with me in Thailand 😊

Every year the biggest event is Redbull Shayimoto. But where you really want to be is in the townships at the freestyle illegal spin events. That's where the real crazy styles come out!

I used to do this, to a degree, flying down dirt roads in the 80s. Not hanging upside though, passenger hanging sideways out the window while ripping a hand brake turn. Or drifting while holding onto the roof. Sounds stupid when I think about it.

Unfortunately there’s nothing exciting about Motorsport in Singapore. There are lots of (very expensive) supercars and luxury cars but due to restrictions, that’s all it is to it.

Same as takeovers here stateside. Criminals showing off their “driving skills” in their stolen vehicles or any piece of a rwd car that will still spin a tire while onlookers try to get as close as they can to the action as they can without being run over. The dumbest form of motorsport in my opinion. It gives actual motorsports a bad reputation because outsiders lump us all in together with those idiots🤦♂️

I first learned about this when they had Stacey-Lee May on Netflix's "Hyperdrive", I have to say I don't exactly understand the appeal, but it certainly takes the drift parts and horsepower arms race out of it, so anyone can participate. Unfortunately her car was completely outclassed on the show and she didn't get far, which was a big L for the producers IMO.
