@Orion Guns Akimbo totally caught me off guard. It looked like it was absolutely ridiculous and not worth watching. I'm so glad I got past that. That was DEFINITELY worth watching. He's also in Miracle Workers, which gets pretty random. I love him in there but there is one episode in the third season that is beyond insane; it's the one that convinced me he could do this.

I definitely agree. I took my two boys to one of his performances in Washington, D.C. It was indescribable...

Parody biopic

Yeah, British child actors seem to be considerably more interesting and less damaged than American ones. They easily transition from playing wizards and vampires to inventive indie experiments while we drive ours to total self-annihilation.

Weird Al isn't really a character, he's a person.

Same in Calgary. The security staff told everyone to go home, and the Jim Schwarz came out and took those of us who were still there into a back room, where Al stayed and autographed for everyone... he spoke with everyone. Super chill, very friendly, very open. It was awesome.

That tour was my very first concert. He did the same thing then as well, a huge group of people found him at the rear exit and he gave autographs toe every one of us.

Seen him many times in recent years. Hasn't changed.

I've only seen the behind the music with Lynard Skynyrd

Madonna and Coolio I believe took issue back in the day, but satire and parody are a broad issue (and I think the Coolio thing was mostly a misunderstanding/miscommunication) I’ve never heard of anyone having anything bad to say about Al, so from all I’ve ever heard, to say that he’s only “overall fairly well liked” is a drastic and severe understatement I really do hope that they reference the behind the scenes of UHF… just a brief visit to the Orion/strawberries part, cause it’s unfortunate and also low key hilarious It’s a little distracting that Radcliffe is so much shorter than Al, and it’s also hard to picture Weird Al with abs… but I’m loving the energy and the general look that Radcliffe brings. A lot of people saying that D.R. should’ve never been cast as Weird Al over his size, but people said the same thing about Hugh Jackman’s size when it came to being cast as Wolverine (too tall). I’m looking forward to this Weird Al is a fantastic performer and entertainer

This is absolutely going to not be a serious biopic.

But, if I had to guess, seeing this is a Hollywood made film, they're going to parody the musical docudrama, basically make him have some tragic event happen in his past and have sort of drug/alcohol abuse, with him going into rehab or overcoming it by some big performance. You know, like how parodied it with Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story. Or they may play it straight, like how they did with Ray, Walk The Line, Rocketman and Bohemian Rhapsody (amongst MANY others)

I've seen that episode. Its actually kind of pathetic how hard they tried to make his life seem so much harder than it was. There is another documentary somewhere where he talks about that one and how silly he thought it was. He's actually had a really good life. They could have done something really funny if they had tried.
