I'd imagine Nicole's parents would be good replacements for Lord X. Perhaps the lore behind that would be Nicole having nightmares about her terrible childhood and these twisted manifestations of her parents would lampoon how the show dropped the ball thinking "The Parents" could be a worthy successor to "The Choices". Heck, Cycles could be called Choices as the "Senicourts" pressure Nicole to make something of her life!
