0:07- To me, this is more heartbreaking that Lan Zhan screaming Wei Ying's name when he falls off the cliff. Here, you can hear the absolute terror in his voice once he realizes what WY is about to do... somewhere he already know he has lost him....God, it's so painful...

At that point in time Wei Ying closing his eyes he was at peace with what was done. He couldn't change the situation at all. 😭 Heart hurts for Lan Zhan 😞

Make up artists were best here...Wang yibo being 6 years younger than Xiao zhan,but here in this series yibo looks a bit older and more manly than zhan...where zhan looks cute.... whatever,the scene was perfectly played...at least wei ying knew before his death that lan zhan was a true friend of him... someone who loved him dearly... that's wei ying's prize...

Esta escena del acantilado es inolvidable...tanto dolor, tanto sufrimiento, tanta impotencia, tanto que Lan Zhan no dijo, pero que manera de demostrar su sentir...desesperación por salvar a WeiYing...por lo menos el Patriarca Yiling vio que alguien si estaba dispuesto a salvarlo a costa de todo...y retribuyó ese sentir...se suelta de la mano de Lan Zhan para que este no termine en el abismo con él...

This I think the part that yibo can't stop crying.. when they were filming the movie. ( sorry I'm out of line here) AND this part that I can't forget, bec JC tried to strike wei with his sword, but he strike the stone instead. Which where lanzan was kneeling , wei forced his hand to let go of lanzan hand, afraid that the stone will crack and lanzan will fall with him?

Jiang Cheng lost everything and everyone-you cannot blame him for being so hateful towards Wei Ying in this moment, where everyone is focused on the Yiling Patriarch. You can’t blame Jiang Cheng for feeling angry because he has every right to be. Wei Ying is no saint, either, he’s not a hero-he’s just a cultivator who wants to do the right thing, stumbling along the way. The same with Jiang Cheng who just wants to be a good sect leader for the sake of those depending on him. In the end, they are both at fault. They are both flawed. If only Wei Ying had trusted Jiang Cheng more and opened up to him more about what was going on. If only Jiang Cheng did not act cold and arrogant to make Wei Ying fear telling him any truths.

And yet, in the end, Jiang Cheng couldn’t hate Wei Wuxian. If he did, he wouldn’t have hesitated to hit his hand instead of the rock. I think after everything, he wanted to hate him, but he couldn’t. It was his brother.

@@rheapunzel3 of course not. I actually did a character analysis on him (cause that’s kinda what I do in my free time after getting my literature degree in college🤣). This was my conclusion: He didn’t hate him. He hated himself-his inability to create change the way his brother does. He hated himself and his inability to protect those closest to him. You can see a reflection of this in the future, when he’s around Jin Ling. He’s overly strict with his nephew because the boy (unfortunately) takes too much after the uncle he had never met, Wei Ying. And this reminds Jiang Cheng of all the trouble his brother had been through and he doesn’t want that for Jin Ling but Jin Ling is just as stubborn as Wei Ying was as a kid.

@@rheapunzel3 haha! I was able to make that connection thanks to my friend and former classmate from college who loves the show just as much. I said that JC is protective cause of course JL is his sister’s son. Then she said “and JL resembles WY a lot!” I tried to look back and I realized that he’s the perfect mix of all three siblings. Jiang Cheng’s arrogance and brattiness, Yanli’s features, and Wei Ying’s sense of chivalry. It’s bittersweet to think about 🥺

Me parte el alma escuchar el grito de lanzhan, fue un personaje que no pudo hacer mucho por sus principios tan arraigados en el y aunque al final actuo por amor y quebro muchas leyes, los demas clanes le dieron la espalda al igual que su tio. Ademas tengo algo de resentimiento por jiangchen fue un hermano que jamas entendio y respaldo a su hermano aunque weiying dio su vida por el. Esa es la razon por la que suelta la mano de lanzhan para que tanto su hermano y su amado no calleran con el.

Can anyone help me with this question, why did Jiang Cheng hit the rock instead of Wei Wuxan, and why did Wei Wuxan pull away when he hit the rock?

I have a theory: so Jiang Cheng couldn't bring himself to hit and kill Wuxian so he hit the rock instead but his plans right there were to make all of them to fall and die together (you can see that by the way he turn his sword after he hits the rock), WY realized that LZ and JC would fall too so he pull away his arm from LZ's hands so he could save them both. Never saw anyone talking about this, but in my head makes so much sense and is canon

No one saved him... He pulled himself away when the rock started shifting.. he died here.. was resurrected 16 years later.. (it happened differently in the novel, but, he did die in both)
