This is probably the first moment of happiness he's felt in centuries, if not his entire life. His childhood was pain, his adolescence was spent committing atrocities to defend his homeland, followed by years of torture at the hands of his enemies. He forsook his humanity and his soul, and became a monster. He has never known love, much less given it. But now this woman, to him a child, has entered his life. He could have easily let her die. But he sensed they were the same. Like him, she had grown up in pain, and like him, she had never known a lover, never allowed herself to. And she was about to die. So he took her under his wing. And over the course of the series, she has grown and matured, even thrived with him and Integra. Dracula's daughter, realizing her full potential at last At long last, he has tasted true happiness.

That moment when you realize that he actually looks more like the Dracula from the books then 45% of the movie's. Count from the book had a mustache only a few of the movie's counts have a mustache. So nice detail Victoria pointed out

He can be such a kind and tender soul when he needs to be...also he looks like Dracula from Castlevania.

People sometimes see a love affair between alucard and seras AND THERE IS...just not the way you think. Alucard is like a father proud of his daughter's ability to finally unleash her true potential and I agree with Ken Bullard how he is true nobility, seeing someone literally weaker than you as your equal

They have such a beautiful relationship. Alucard is like the fun but preverted dad, my girl Integra is the strict but loving and nurturing mother and Seres is their spoilt but bad ass and bundle of joy daughter😍 that's how I see it anyways.

Alucard turning Seras into a vampire was somehow related to his own lost identity. You see the care and love in his eyes when he looks at Seras. Maybe some sort of fatherly love, maybe the idea that he didn't want to be alone or who the hell knows. Whatever it was, it wasn't Alucard (the chaotic amalgamation of millions of identities), it was Vlad, it was his human side making this decision.

Up till now alucard has had this sinister sadistic face that relished in killing but behind all the power and the craziness alucard is gentle towards Seras and Integra and looks at Seras with an innocent smile that shows that he cares about them although they are probably the only people he cares about

actually in this scene he is not count Dracula but Vlad the Impaler

This scene is so brutally wholesome. Makes you forget the hundred if not thousands impaled on poles

Those who love Freeman's dub love the dark craziness in his voice. But the Japanese dub is who I would consider is really "Alucard". He is not just craziness, he is also capable of so many more emotions, and I could literally "feel" the emotions in the Japanese dub everytime I listen to it.

I think Alucard sees Integra as his equal/superior partly because he sees himself in her. She's defending her country at all costs and completely dedicated to her mission, like he was. But on top of that she won't fall to corruption and she'd never become a vampire out of her own pride in humanity. She's basically someone Alucard wishes he was / had stayed as, his idea of an ideal person.

Gonna be honest here, prefer Crispin Freeman's voice. He got the right amount of crazy in the voice. Jappanese VA is far to formal. Also it helps that I saw the dub first, and that I prefer dubs over subs, but will watch subs if they are more easily available. Also that head pat was adorable.

A Hellsing live action film is in the works. If Keanu Reeves plays Alucard with him looking like John Wick (and eventually Neo), it would work narratively well for a number of reasons; 1. Alucard's true "human form" is what you see before you in the form of "Vlad Tepes III" in this world specifically. Who is basically Alucard with longer hair and a mustache. 2. Finally, Keanu, along with his characters like *guns... lots of guns!* So... might as well give the role of Alucard to Keanu :P 3. Funny enough, they call Keanu an "immortal vampire" because he "hardly" ages (he only looks "younger" these days because his beard conceals his wrinkles). 4. Alucard's height in Hellsing (based on the main design we're used to) is 6 feet, 3 inches. Keanu is 6 feet, 1 inch. . Alucard's true form since Abraham Van Hellsing experimented on him via science and "sorcery" (which took place after Van Hellsing and his men defeated Alucard), was being what Luke Valentine called Alucard in the English dub as; "A monster who powers radiate with a darkness that casts a shadow on darkness itself." Again, that was a dub mistranslation. In the original JP dialogue (anime and manga), Luke calls Alucard; "A pitch black monster within pitch blackess." At least according to the translation of the subbed anime. Therefore, if they want to make Alucard to look like John Wick, they can't go wrong with that. Very clever if you think about it :P
