Yep I agree if your from Canada Compton is almost like home. I was in Compton once delivery by truck to a warehouse I remember being by Crenshaw and some other major street Remember a corner store with like 20 dudes outside with bars across it and I remember a high school there of one side street. I walked for a few minutes I was from Canada I'm white I did not see any issue but then again I did not realize the full extent of my foolishness till later would I do it again hell no but nothing happened may be i was lucky or maybe I felt home Compton just like Canada

I remember when I first saw South Central and Compton, I was surprised at how nice everyone's houses were. I grew up in Pico-Union, where much fewer people had houses to themselves, and often lived in places much older than those in South Central. Even then, the rent is cheaper and those areas receive less services than my old neighborhood. It still has poverty, despite looking superficially nice. That seems to stem from the time when South Central and Compton were meant to be suburbs on cheap land, and the land was built accordingly.

There are homes near the Compton airport that sit on half acre and acre lots. People keep horses on their properties. He did not show some of the other neighborhoods where the houses are even nicer than you might see in other cities.

Since I left in the 80s Compton has gotten a lot better it seems . I used to go to church with a buddy I worked with there and I was the only pale face in the congregation but I was treated with nothing but kindness . I think my home town Bellflower has gotten worse though but seeing videos from back home makes me miss So Cal
