We would like to extend a warm welcome to all who are visiting Hollister Hills State Vehicular Recreation Area. Whether you are a new visitor or an experienced one, you can discover many off-road opportunities offered at Hollister Hills within this short video. So cool. I remember coming here with my Dad 30 years ago. I just remember eating crap on a 90cc and under track 🥴 I was all throttle back then.

Mudstone has been a terrible place to run, hike, and mountain bike for over a year. It's in such terrible condition. Every local rider I know is avoiding the trails that used to be so fun. Wish this place was taken care of. So many other trail networks in nearby counties are doing it right. Mudstone screams neglect and all of us Hollister residents have to go elsewhere to ride now.

Are there signs to indicate green, blue etc on the 4x4 trails or do we just have to go by the map?

All of our official off-roading trails are marked with difficulty indicators including green circle, blue square, black diamond and beyond.

Hi, would an electric mountain bike (pedal assist only - no throttle) be able to use the mtb trails in mudstone ranch and the Nature area ?

Class 1 and class 2 e-bikes are permitted in the Mudstone Ranch. Other areas and regulations for California state parks can be found here: www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=30521
