She is incorrect to say that Jamison’s Pharmacy isn’t important. It was the first black-owned, family-run pharmacy in Orangeburg. It remains a pillar in the community. And it continues to be operated and run by Jamison legacy.

Apologies if I failed to mention the extended history of some of the locations shown. (Some of which I’m unaware of & other parts were edited) However, being that our hometown is a smaller, lesser known community; the sole purpose of this Vlog was to generally introduce Orangeburg to a broader audience. And in addition, for entertainment purposes. If you’d like to share more of the historical baccground, we’d love to invite you to become apart of future projects. Thanks for watching & commenting! Your support is valued.

This vlog is interesting but totally isn't the history of Orangeburg. Jamison's Pharmacy is blacked owned and before this young lady was born, this pharmacy was the only pharmacy blacks could get free medicine that kept a lot of AAs alive. The park is actually owned by Jamison's so AA kids and the community host events that is family friendly.

I describe Oburg as an ok place, but you wouldnt wanna be broken down there. Mark my words from someone who went there to check it out. It will be discovered. They have a section or 2 they're experimenting with to try to expand its potential although it will take longer. I think the newer stuff there being built though tells me they want to make it like Rock Hill or Greenville but it will take 5 more years or so.

Left the Burg in 86,came back in 88, left again in 97, went to ATL for 12 years, then Charlotte for 6, in Columbia now. Recommend for you, Golden Buddah 7 in Marietta, lived there too. Love The Burg!!! The Barber Shop was called The People’s Barber Shop. My Dad used to take me there every two weeks where Mr John Brunson cut my hair in the 7’s. Do you remember George’s Boutique or Edisto Theatre, and the infamous Eddie Mo.

In my experience in SC as an Italian American trans person, the housing availability isn't that much in SC and not a lot of government programs like Michigan has. Probably a reason it goes under the radar and also I don't know of many famous people out of say Columbia, maybe a few black athletes or entertainers but not many urban oriented white people come from Columbia like say a Mike Bibby or Jason Kidd. Or Prince..No one of a lighter skin tone seems to come out of there and never an Italian. I was going to adopt Columbia as my city at a time so that's why I say it.
