Poor Edna. Her being in the house fir 10 whole years.It is one of my many favorite songs.:-):-D I love Edna's dress. Yay!! At first,I thought Edna's and Tracy's dresses had Hams on them:-(:-(:-D

I think I went to see this in York. Tracy has a phenomenal voice and Edna sounds like Roger in American Dad

This is better than the USA one. I love the look of Tracy and the choreo for the dynamites. It is simple, 60's movement but so right on and synchronized with the music. Ensemble male dancers on FLEEK!

No way is this better than the original B'way show, although all the players here are completely on point. No way could anyone ever best Harvey Fierstein as Mrs. Turnblad except Divine himself!

@cripbabe111 Harvey Fiersteon can't sing. I think he's great in a lot of movies but in the Hairspray musical show he was the worst part of the entire ensemble.

this is just one performance though and i have been on both sides of the curtain and i agree with you that at this performance the audience is quiet but at others that isnt the case

So does that mean no laughing in a comedy? While I agree with and love people having respect in the theatre, as a performer, when you're in a comedy (I actually played Edna recently),having people not laugh makes you feel like you're doing a poor job.

Jenna Andrews If you're dancing every night in the West End, you're sure to lose weight. Watch the film's DVD extras - that Tracy had to be fed constantly to remain fat.
