The only thing about that part is he forgot to change the lyrics. In the song, it's 2 different perspectives, once when he was a young boy, then the other when he was older reflecting on his past. He says "Father took me into the Ghetto" Then other lyrics change as well. It's great that he used this band, but he should have studied the lyrics more

I still stand by that the Foo Fighters and Elton John versions of the song are such fascinating takes on it. Like, they emphasis different tones from the original. And exactly bowie!!
@annegrey3780
@annegrey3780 4 жыл бұрын
the only thing I have trouble with is when he covers Bowie, idk, how to explain it, but it sounds off to me. I don't really know anything about music but a few times he and his guests have explained that even when you have a lot of range your voice naturally has it's most power at a certain point or whatever...and I think what it is is that his natural (or whatever) voice is the same level (or whatever) as a lot of other male singers and a lot of dudes with lower voices don't have that range, but Bowie actually has tones of range but a naturally lower voice, so I think that you can tell he and Bowie don't have the sweet spot or whatchamacalit so much more than when he does other low-voiced singers like Johnny Cash and Peter Steele who just kinda had the one sound. Guess my point is he's a really good singer with a shit tone of range and Bowie's a really good singer with a shit ton of range and I'm learning shit about singing that I never would have noticed before by watching a really good, aware musician that I probably wouldn't have noticed otherwise.

Well it's not that far off. Of course Gerard's voice is no match for Freddie's, nor is anyone else's in the world, but musically at the very core it's heavily inspired by Queen and Bohemian Rhapsody. I'm pretty sure MCR even mentioned it in a some interview. If you filter out the singing, ignore the 40 years difference between the songs and just listen to the music, it's on par in many parts.
