Same for me. I did play during the beta, but only for a short while. Then once the game was finally released, I didn't really play as it was subscribtion- based and I already had a game I was subscribed to. Then a little later I learned it was gonna become free-to-play and I began playing casually. I liked the game but wasn't super into it and would play on and off, sometimes taking long breaks from it. Then around the time Elsweyr came out, my passion was re-ignited and I not only began playing more and more but I even decided to finally subscribe to the game, and I have never regretted it. Now I play everyday, and it has become my main game to play, while the other game I played have slowly fallen from grace.

Funny enough, after Elsweyr was when I significantly cut back on the game. Greymoor just didn't capture me and Blackwood didn't appeal to me much; it was the first chapter I didn't preorder or buy right around launch since Morrowind. I still love the game and High Isle has me really interested but for me, from Tamriel Unlimited's launch in 2015 to Elsweyr was the golden age of the game. Still a great game though!

@@luqueze6418 That's doable, but not typical of the majority unfortunately. ESO at first seems like this massively huge deep game -- but once you play it for about a year you start seeing it's a very shallow game with very little to offer unless you like stories and lore. The incentivizaition and rewards in ESO are just as shallow. Literally everything drives players to monetization or P2A mechanics. I used to be you, then reality set in. Hopefully the future is better for ESO but almost 8 years since release, my expectations are very low. This game is a gem, but roughly cut by it's developer.

"Finally the video that should of come out at the beginning of the games life but still love it. " Actually... exactly what the game deserves to have now. If you are honest, the game at launch was a pile of biowaste. A lot of unfinished stuff, stability issues and quite a lot of design mistakes. It was not fun at that time, and the rocky launch thus not completely undeserved. But, and this is a big BUT: The developers sat down, listened to the players. And not only those who have stayed, but also to those who have left. And fixed things. Many other publishers, after such a launch, would have quickly switched to maintenance mode, milk it a bit to cut their losses and drop it a few years later. ESO instead was fixed and upgraded. A lot. It fought its way up from the scrapyard to being one of the best, if not the best MMO currently existing. My kudos to the developers for the good work they did there.

Used to hate the idea of ESO. I heard it was some split group of developers handling it, so it'd be different from the main games, and I despised that. I was always a really in-depth lore nerd and I assumed ZoS didn't have the love and care needed to create a real Elder Scrolls game. Eventually my mom (who played Skyrim and loved it) and my brother convinced me to grab the Morrowind DLC and try it out. I begrudgingly did so. I fell in love. The graphics, customization, gameplay, community, and incredibly impressive respect (and IMPROVEMENT) to the lore pulled me in. I've played Daggerfall, Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim....but ESO is my favorite Elder Scrolls. I'm able to play in this amazing world with my family, take them to locations I only READ ABOUT for years, teach them the lore of the land...it's a dream. Thank you for making this game. I can't wait to see what's in store for the future!

The Pact is a joke. A plothole, no less. Argonians that have little to win or lose from the war helping dark elves that keep other argonians as slaves and see them as nothing more than animals? Nords forming alliagences? They can't stand united amongst themselves at that point in time, i'd say civil war Skyrim form TES V is a more stable place, by far. Why send troops south th help your elven former enemies while trouble and uncertainty's brewing in the west? Also, nords are xenophobic enough not to trust any outsider, even human ones, let alone elves or beastfolk. I could go on with this rant.
@JMulvy
@JMulvy 2 жыл бұрын
@@Yuli95Sagitta The Argonians were given the opportunity to modernize their country and culture. Blackfin was friends with Jorunn and seized the opportunity to help her countrymen gain respect in the eyes of one of the most oldest and influential races on the mainland of Tamriel; the Nords. Also, ending slavery for the northern tribes (the ones most effected by it) people seems like a pretty big reason to show how much of an asset they can be when not in shackles. Not only that but the Hist directed them to join and seeing as how their entire identity evolves around those ancient trees, they are inclined to do what they are told by them. Plus, no way in hell would they join the AD after they had burnt many of their hist trees and slaughtered several hatchling pools. Several of the Dunmer Houses were in favor of abolishing slavery, and were even willing to accept Argonians as apprentices. Again, much like the Argonians and the Hist, the Dunmer were directed to join by the Tribunal because even they understood that due to their geographic location; by the time the AD swept through Tamriel, Morrowind would have had to fend them off by itself.

I'm still close friends with the first ever guild I joined, even though it's dead, and I now joined 2 new guilds that are very active and fun to be in, one of them even becoming my new main guild and family. But I'll always remember the glory days of my first guild, long live Lord Warden's Sanatorium! Not only has this game made me new friends and memories, but it's also given me an escape from the real world. Despite it's flaws (and trust me, it has a LOT), I still can't help but play it. It really is a fun and amazing game, no matter what your playstyle is. Also because of this game I wouldn't have made the numerous OCs that I absolutely adore to this day, or even my sona! ESO is definitely worth a try, and despite how much we moan and groan about it's changes or glitches, we still love ESO :)

I feel like advertising the game with 'go anywhere do anything' AND 'no subscription required' is slightly misleading. For people considering buying the game: the ESO+ subscription isn't NECCESSARY but it provides you with so much quality of life that it is almost mandatory. Want to go to Summerset? Need to buy the DLC or have the subscription. Want to go to the new Deadlands zone? Buy the DLC or have the subscription. I could go on but you get the point. Regardless of the sub, the game is still hella worth it. But just thought I'd comment for clarity.

I’ve been on ESO since day 1, I’ve been an ESO + member for something like 4 years. I’ve bought every collectors edition they’ve released. I even bought that ESO Noblechairs gaming chair. I’ve got nearly every Normal and Vet title in PvE be it Solo arenas, Dungeons or trials and every title in PvP (I’ve got multiple 5 star characters in PvP, not that stars even mean anything it’s just a measure of time played in Cyrodiil ). I’m capable of fighting outnumbered in PvP and actually winning despite so many nerfs to solo play. And I can say without a shadow of a doubt that you while you *CAN* play however you want to I would *NOT* recommend it. There is a meta and there’s nothing wrong with that, you should use it, because it’s great! And it works! Don’t make the same mistake I did when I first started save yourself some time and skip that whole “I’m going to play different from everybody else” phase and go straight to the “I’m going to annihilate anyone and anything who crosses my path” phase.

I'd recommend checking out Lucky Ghost's guide to eso in 2021. It's long but it has time stamps if you want to learn about something specific. That's the first way to decide if it looks like something you'd enjoy. After that I'd say get the base game and maybe eso + if you want to go to a dlc zone. Eso + allows you to have access to all the dlc zones and stuff. That's how I'd recommend trying out the game and seeing if it's for you. If not that's okay, the game isn't for everyone.

Same Idea as Arbitary, but if you like the game and want more I suggest getting the main expansions when they are on sale, because although ESO plus gives you all DLC and expansions, you only have them while the membership is active, so by getting the main expansions such as Elsweyr you will at least have a lot of content unlocked for days where you don't feel like having ESO Plus, only reason I use ESO Plus is for the crafting bag and the large amount of smaller DLC

@@TheOmniSora Well if you have a base understanding of ESO's combatb every PvE group-Dungeon, arena or trial can be cleared with ease on Notmal mode. No Meta build needed. And tbh ESO did open alot and tries put new things. Allowing hybrid Builds to be a real thing and ofc the fact that the Meta changes alot and never sticks to one single "Best" build. And yes harder content (Veteran) does requiere Meta-builds. But thats a normal thing that some Skills, sets and even classes are better then others. Its not possible to balance an MMO like that to a 100%- were all classes are equal no matter gear or skills. Let me first say, I love this game and will never leave it. That said… Ever since Microsoft got their hands it it, the effort out towards keeping the game up and running has gone so far downhill it’s almost depressing. They don’t care about fixing the problems they cause they just want more content to make more money. And if we’re being honest, their storylines are becoming too predictable and have hardly any “meat in the bones” when it comes to emotional impact (the characters aren’t endearing and I have such a hard time actually getting into the role play of my character when my character can’t bring herself to care about such cardboard cutout npcs) The reason this bothers me is because I’ve played plenty of pre-Microsoft content that felt so much better to play than whatever they’re doing now. Just for gods sake quit breaking the game ever single time you update the game, or at the very damn least, FIX WHAT YOU FUCK UP. It isn’t hard I promise it’s just not fun or entertaining to do but that’s how you handle a game like this, you keep up with the damn maintenance. After nearly 4000 hours, that’s my honest opinion. The game is still wonderful but Microsoft did something to it that just feels bad and wrong

It's the mindset we choose to apply when we launch a game thats important. Obviously the game has its issues like every other game, but not everybody wants to focus on the negative. Its annoying and commonplace among this generation of gamers to point out the obvious negative instead of sharing a potentially uplifting and happy experience with the game. I never will leave the game, it does still give me a level of joy. It’s just that over the lasts year it’s obvious that Microsoft is more focused in money than community and that’s the depressing part I’m talking about, that loss of administration care for the game and how it’s running. Cuz let’s all face it ESO isn’t new, it has bugs, but before Microsoft entered the fray, the bugs were handled with an air of begrudged ok-ness as they’d be fixed as soon as they could be. After Microsoft it went to straight up “let’s just crank this out, they’ll pay”. So yes I still love the game and it’s clear that a lot of us are still happy with the game to a degree, I’m just being unfortunately realistic about the current state of things.
