This is Crazy, I just happened upon this video. Everything that thr OG was mentioning is 100% accurate. I grew up in that neighborhood. I attended Shenandoah Elementary School, frequented Joe's Liquor Store after School walked that same alley behind Bedford. I also attended Louis Pasteur Jr. High and then Graduated from Hamilton High School before earning an Athletic Scholarship to play Football. I was allowed to pursue my dreams and not get forced to be "Put On" like the young homie spoke about. I witnessed several of my classmates who decided to go in the direction of the gang life get put on the set in the alley between Bedford and Shenandoah as well as the alley on Garth. Those were some difficult times. I thank God to this day that He provided me with a Strong Mother and elders that looked out for me. As sad as it was; I learned a lot from those circumstances. I was never overwhelmed by it all because before my Mom's decided to move to L.A. we lived in a pretty rough area in Chicago!! I pray that these young men and women would realize that they are claiming Streets and Hoods that they don't own. It should be abundantly obvious to them that a street gang lifestyle is both fatal and futile!!! A complete and utter waste of time, energy, effort and talent!!! Constantly having to have your head on a swivel, not knowing if you can really trust the Nigga that's trying to Lace you on game in addition to being sweated by the Police is Bullshit. That's a life for "Suckas"!!! Real Talk!!! Keep Bangin, keep selling drugs and making the real Dope Man Rich. It will lead you nowhere. I gleaned from my days of living amongst that PBG Hood, what not to do, who not to hang with. Ultimately, I would say work as hard as you can Not to be apart of this shit. No matter what City you live in. If you do, "they got you right where they wat you"!!! Less than a Mile from Beverly Hills and 2 from Century City. Wake The Fuck Up💪💪💪!!!!

I moved my family to Garth in the early 1990's with our Sec. 8. I was not aware of Playboy until my 14 year old Son at that time him and my neighbor grandson and their friends started claiming PBG. Hanging on Corning in the alley sometimes till 2 or 3 am. You know what that was about. My son was 42 when he was murdered on his way to work living in Homeland CA. Trying to be a Dad to his Motherless Son. R.I P JAPP.

I stole a piece of candy from that store they were standing in front of on Shenandoah and Cadillac (not sure if it's still a store, haven't been over there in decades) and got caught. Shout out to OG Lil Pirate for looking out for a brother at Pasteur. At Pasteur we had our own Omar ( The Wire) named OG Tracey T and people would say "Tracey T's coming!" and people would scatter. Dude would walk down the street in broad daylight with PBGC in old English letters on his freshly pressed Levi's 501s and a blue sweatshirt with 3 creases and a big playboy bunny on it.

@@BeamBoi92 so if we just listened to you and did what you said, we'd be chomos right? What the hell is a chomo anyway? I don't see how two people can do the exact same thing but one is "real" and the other is an imposter. Why not support them both instead of hating one. That's what's wrong with the world now, too much competition, not enough genuity.

These videos are fantastic. At the end of the day, these are always people simply looking for a sense of belonging, friendship, some form of family, and a way to earn a living. The “gangsters” aren’t naturally evil people. In most cases, they simply weren’t given the privilege of knowing an alternative way to exist, so they make the most of what they know how to do. It’s a bit sad and impressive at the same time.

High crime rates is due to oppression on minorities. Democrats started the civil war to expand slavery but failed. Take a look who is in charge of the Black communities today continuing the legacy of oppression on minorities (Los Angeles, New York, Brooklyn, Detroit) it's all Democrats. Democrats are the party of Slavery but they want you to believe Republicans & Democrats somehow switched in the 1960's "White Liberals are the worst enemy to America & the worst enemy to the Black men." - RIP Malcom X 🙏

You're talking straight up nonsense. West LA isn't even a bad area. Ever been there? These guys grew up literally surrounded by people who found a way to make a living by staying in school and simply learning a skill that others are willing to pay for. These guys CHOSE this path because they looked up to pimps and drug dealers and aspired to be like them. Now they have a million pathetic ways to justify being thugs all while 99.9% of people around them chose to be decent people. This is why everybody in their community hates them (their own words). But I'll give them some credit, at least they're to get into other things like music. They also don't seem like terrible people. They just need to take responsibility for their past mistakes and move on.
