As others have pointed out, Rico looked as happy touring this plant as he did in the audio/speaker manufacturer tour. I think one reason is he wants a good system where he won't have to do a dirty, stinking, repair like he did on your old boat.

By the time your boat is finished we will all know how to build a quality boat! Thank you for sharing all of this. 3 phase power is very common in the US. I used 480 volt 3 phase power at my convenience store/gas station with a full size commercial kitchen for all my HVAC, refrigeration and interior and exterior lighting. Your wiring is half the size and your electric motors don't require starters. It took 200 amps 3 phase and 400 amps single phase for that small power hungry operation.

I've seen towels fed down, apples with razor blades embedded in them, aftershave bottles and the guys who came to clean out the line scaling - had found rounds of ammunition on some installations. That is commercial installations. On charter yachts - you are faced with people who really don't care what goes down.

Awesome episode... I've been very curious about this process. I had no idea that you could make your own chlorine on board. That's pretty cool. Maybe I didn't pay attention enough but it sounds like all of the poo solids do still go in the water but are treated. I guess what I'm trying to confirm is that poo solids aren't separated and need to be disposed of on land.
@NautiGuys
@NautiGuys 6 ай бұрын
Yes, you are not paying attention, and you definitely should rewatch, the only only thing that goes overboard is clean water, and nothing to be disposed
@carsonc1272
@carsonc1272 6 ай бұрын
@@NautiGuys That's the terminology that confused me. Clean water implies that it's just water and no solids. That would mean solids would be saved and taken to shore. I can't imagine it being that way but again, that's what "clean water" implies. In reality treated sewage water seems like a more appropriate term and implies that the solids are released into the ocean.

Victoria and Rico, that video was some real interesting s**t. I'm flushed with new information. Thanks for giving us the poop on how the system works.

Amazing! Do they install for you in Turkey? How do you learn to maintain the system and to make repairs. Very high quality and good for the environment!! Wow-there is so much to learn!!

now i found the beginning really interesting, with the flushing of stockings and money etc - but these items surely will get caught up at some point in the dark water tanks and possibly in the emptying, from a point of safety in case someone got a bit tipsy (on a boat?) with these intelligent loos, might there be a possibility of what is flushed to pass to a small tank behind the loo and then pass later to the holding tank, in case someone needs to retrieve something, they can without embarrassment and having staff go to the black water tank, i know room is a premium but its a suggestion ? cool, question answered at 25mins, everyone needs a strainer for the loos - interesting shit

The USCG does not "certify", but rather they "Approve". It is a subtle but significant difference. The USCG designates independent companies that can review an item, ie life jacket or waste treatment, and determine if it were built to "approved" standards.

USCG issues "certificates" for many diffirent things upon inspection, including Liveaboard Permits (certificates)

Can hardly wait for Sh💩t show #2.On a side note my cousin had a sewage treatment plant at his summer home. One weekend his college age daughter had a going back to school party. He arrived later to find suds floating about the neighbourhood from the manhole cover on his side lawn. Upon investigation he found ladies sanitary products & condoms plugging the whole system up. He spent the rest of the day with a hockey stick fishing the non biodegradable products from the mixing tank. Rico I hope the strainer works for you or be sure to get a grader stick for the job. Like the plumber says,”Sh💩t happens”!🤪🙏🇨🇦👍
