I always had a headcanon about the Sirens. They were once three goodhearted ponies, who happened to be sisters, who traveled Equestria trying to put smiles on less fortunate ponies faces. But since they couldn't sing, and they belonged to a society where singing was everything, they were cast out. Adagio was furious, so she went to Tierek for some sort of spell, and he gave her three pendants. One for her, One for Aria, and one for Sonata. In return, she and her sisters had to become servants of not only Tierek, but also King Sombra, who had made the pendants. hen she put one on and sang, she lulled him right to sleep. But she left with the other two without hearing Tierek's all too late warning - the pendants would, before too long, reflect any ugliness in your heart. Adagio gave a pendant to Sonata and Aria. They began manipulating people with their song, and before long, their hearts became black and shriveled, and they turned from beautiful ponies to hideous dragons. Since the pendants can only reflect so much coldness from someone's heart, they started to overload, and even if the Sirens tried to change, the pendants shut down, and they couldn't turn back, so they remained as ugly on the inside as on the outside. They fed off of negative emotions to keep their voices strong, since using the pendants too much had destroyed them somewhat. Star Swirls the Bearded eventually had to take drastic measures and banished them to the other reality, where they remained for thousands of years until the events of the movie. Okay, I went too overboard, of course. That might not be what actually happened, but it could be.

wasn’t it like that they were dragons in equestria i’d guess via the way you said it but they got banished to the human-ish world by that pony mage dude and in that human-ish form they got those pendants and those A T E negative emotions to get enough energy to travel back to equestria and saw some kind of rainbow causing them to go to canterlot high and start the battle of the bands idk that is whatever i remember i also don’t know if it’s right

I remember watching Rainbow Rocks when I was small, I watched it a million times. My Little Pony was a huge part of my childhood and so nostalgic. It kind of makes me sad that My Little Pony already ended.
