Ben Daniels is chewing up all the scenery & clearly having a blast playing Santiago. Would have enjoyed seeing him on the press tour but understand the tough situation in his personal life didn’t allow it.

He hasn't officially debuted as Santiago but man, Ben Daniels is already shining! He will be one of the best characters yet! As much as I would have enjoyed to see him give context to Santiago's character in the press tours, I understand he's going through a personal tragedy with the death of his husband. Much condolences to him.

Funny choice of words considering that Ben Daniels actually did a production of Jesus Christ Superstar. He played Pontius Pilate, if I remember correctly.

@@feschneider1985 I watched that on TV when I was in the 8th grade and tbh, he and Sara bareilles carried the entire show because you can tell how Ben studied the character of Pilate and captured the internal conflict and anger that he goes through in the show.

I have to say that what little I've seen of Ben Daniels as Santiago, I like. I've always pictured Santiago like the Innovation comic did - resembling Bela Lugosi, but with slightly longer hair. But he is great. I especially like the fans in the front. It gives the Theater a lightly Rocky Horror feel with looks like fun. Sad for BD's loss.

As much as I adore Sam and Jacob, it would be nice to see some interviews with Ben too. Maybe they're there and I've just missed out on them. But if not, it would be nice to see him included in some of the press tours.

His partner of 30+ years or so recently died of cancer. Ben was taking care of him as his health declined during the time press for Season 2 was going on, that's why he wasn't there for any of it.

He was actually supposed to attend the press tours starting with the TCA panel for AMC last February, but he had to pull out because of a family emergency. He wasn’t able to attend the premiere and the press junket for April and May as we’ve learned that his husband, actor Ian Gelder, aged 74, died this May 6 due to bile duct cancer. Ben knows he’d want to be there with Jacob, Sam, et al. (he’s also part of the main cast), and Ben and showrunner Rolin Jones have a great working relationship (Rolin was an executive producer for The Exorcist series, Ben’s previous project), but Ben took care of his ailing husband. Ian was only diagnosed last December, and Ben turned down offers to take care of him. They’ve been together for more than 30 years, and it’s so hard to lose a life partner. I hope Ben is alright now and surrounded by his family and friends at this very difficult time. We look forward for his comeback! He’s also part of the Rings of Power season 2 in a much smaller role, but IWTV is something to look forward!!

As a widow who had a partnership with my husband for 30+ years, it is gut-wrenching agony. For me, it felt like a huge palpable void has appeared in your life, especially during the first few years (Six years widowed now.) Sending my healing thoughts to Ben during this truly horrific time in his life. Widowhood sucks. 😢

Amazing Ben Daniels cannot wait to see him in his full glory as Santiago it's gonna be a treat. Also I'm not sure how old he is I've never read the books, but does Santiago have the cloud gift? if so he must be pretty old, or maybe he's drunk from a very powerful vampire.

@baileypp I mean hes literally the main character of the Vampire Chronicles. Whether you like it or not, he's the MC and will be front and center for the rest of the seasons. Anne Rice wrote the books, she made the rules. And no one working on this series is interested in changing that any time soon. So it makes perfect sense why fans would be asking for Lestat👌🏽🙌🏽 I'm personally here for Louis of course, but that doesn't change that fact.

Claudia doesn't survive Paris (the cast and Rolin has already spoiled that for show-only fans). But Lestat, we don't know exactly where he is right now, because we're not quite sure where on the timeline we are, in present day Dubai. My guess is he's in the ground in Nola, healing. It's pretty clear that Rockstar Lestat and Queen of the Damned hasn't happened yet. So we're really not sure where Lestat is, right now.

Season 1 was really good.. Season 2 .... CRINGE BAD, new Claudia SUCKS, she plays her role so annoying that it literally made me STOP WATCHING, contact lenses are terrybad, gore sanitized for pg 13?. This is CANCEL MATERIAL, and maybe on life support for the DEI funding money.

I just had to come back from watching episode two, and IT WAS EFFIN AMAZING! I knew it would be good. I was like Claudia when she was watching the performance, all smile. And I cried a little when we saw Madeleine. And the actor who is playing Santiago, HE GAVE ME CHILLS, but in a good way! He was brilliant as him. I love this episode, and of course, Armand, Louis, and Daniel, their interaction was so funny. This season is so much BETTER! This season really got me hooked! Fantastic! That's all!
