I am going to Winnipeg to study as an international student next month, and i am really nervous since i don't know what people normally do there, maybe far different from my culture (Viet Nam). However, i was told that the people there were very friendly and they were willing to help when i needed, and the cost is quite low compared to other regions, so i think i can adapt quickly to this new liftstyle

Great choice. It's a place with diverse cultures. There are quite a few great Vietnamese restaurants if you missed hometown food. Lots of cultural events which you'll learn about others' cuture. I'm sure you'll love the place.

Beware of the cold and blizzard winds though. People freeze to death in Winnipeg, especially from tropical climates.

It is very true. Over 100 languages are spoken in Winnipeg and we are known for our friendliness and acceptance of others. When my friends visit, they never like to leave. Even during our cold winter we don't stop living. We enjoy life here 365 days a year. It is really an amazing place to call home.

I'm not sure if the cost of living is affordable I lived there from 2012 until 2019 and every thing is expensive specially the food and the rent and the car insurance MPI just one company they don't have competition ,and the price is super high compared to other province. But the peoples are really friendly but you Can't have friends its hard they just like winnipeger that's the truth and don't forget the harsh winter and windy province and in summer the water steel cold you can't sweem except on birdhill Park artificial lake i don't recommend to live there with time you will be depressed

I moved to Winnipeg 19 years ago for school and work, I have learnt to adapt to the harsh winters by dressing warm and catching cool festivals (no pun intended !) like Festival du Voyageur. I love Winnipeg!

Since you say you are from Winnipeg, what area of the city would you recommend as being safe and with least mosquitoes, for renting an apartment..? I am from BC , Canada

@@joang.6664 avoid living in north end, downtown and possibly west end , you should be fine, most of crimes are gang related and confined in these 3 areas, tuxedo, lindenwoods, white ridge , bridgwater, Richmond west, fort Richmond , river heights, and many more in st vital are golf neibourhoods.
