Totally appreciate you and all the people I love to watch. I knew it was time consuming, but had no idea all what went into it. That's what has kept me from diving into those waters. Plus I don't think I'm as creative as you, and I'd run out of content. Ha Ha. But Good Lord - that is a lot of steps you go through to put out something for our entertainment, and we love you all the more for it.

I knew it had to be a fair amount of time because I used to create business PowerPoints and I was super picky that they looked processional and not just thrown together like a teenager doing a school project. I mean there's the font, its size, color, shading, angle, any special effects, video clips, audio voice-overs and that's just the tip of the iceberg. I will confess to being a perfectionist but I also feel it's kind of like an art form. I headed up a group of those presenting the information using Smart Boards etc... and although it was a lot of work and took several hours to complete, it was kind of fun...Lol! I can't tell you how many times I got sucked into editing that I would look up at the clock and had missed dinner by three or four hours.

I had no idea that one of your videos took that long to put together. BUT, I love every minute of your videos. Can’t say that about a *lot* of the videos I’ve seen. This video has shown me that you put a lot of conscious effort into your videos. And. It. Shows. Your videos are interesting (to me) and I always marvel at how you create new videos twice a week. 🥰

Not to complain too much, but....sometimes when so many products that you use are mentioned and then the necessary commercials are inserted it starts to feel like an infomercial. I prefer your videos when you are doing things with your family or things that you got for the dogs that they love. The donut dog bed is a prime example of a great product that I jumped into hunting down and got one for my dog immediately. I can't imagine how many other people did the same. My dod Wingnut thanks you.

I have a new appreciation for You Tubers who make and release regular videos - had no idea that much time is involved, esp. when they’re high quality, well thought out videos like yours. Not sure if you included concept ideas and planning into the time total but that also plays a part. Now I understand why one would want to monetize the videos. Time is money. There are only a few channels where I always let the ads play and yours are one of them. Are you able to elect the duration of the ad or is that You Tube’s decision. There are some ads (not necessarily on your channel) that are 30 -45 minutes long. That’s a lot to ask of someone but for select doggy channels such as The Farm, which is about an Australian couple who rehabilitates challenging dogs (formerly ran a doggy daycare), iI will let them play as that’s my way of supporting them in addition to being a member. Thank you for your dedication in posting regular videos and keeping the content real. I like your down to earth personality and your sweet family, and of course your lovable pups. Keep ‘em coming. 👍

Hi Renee. I would first like to say I always enjoy and look forward to your videos. I find you an interesting and authentic person. If I were to meet you out in the real world, I would naturally gravitate towards you because your energy and aura is infectious and calm. I don't think the average person who doesn't make videos has a true understanding or appreciation for how long it takes to make a video from beginning to end. Thank you for showing us your process. I appreciate all you do and the time and effort you put into your videos and channel. It really shows considering your channel following I have 2 KZfaq channels, a cooking channel and a pottery channel. I have ignored my cooking channel for a bit focusing on my pottery channel and the guilt and pressure I feel to keep both updated is constantly gnawing at me. I always have my hands in a project and now I'm learning to crochet from KZfaq videos. I guess what I'm trying to say, is that I find it hard to focus on one particular thing because I enjoy doing so many things. 2 KZfaq channels, 2 websites, (food blog and pottery blog/e-commerce) Etsy shop, building dollhouse furniture, making pottery, and now learning to crochet. And I have a part time job as an RN at a vitamin injection/infusion store in our local mall. Hmmm, what can I do next?!

Hey there! New subscriber here. This was really interesting for me. In many videos also there is research time and figuring out, at least in my case, what to order or the details and negotiations on collaborations. And then, of course, there's a time taken to answer comments. That's a complete pleasure, but is time consuming. My husband does most of my editing, but I do go back and look at the rough cut, then make notes on what needs to be cut and words or cards that need to be added. He fixes that, then I go through and do a second proof before it is approved for upload. So my editing time is reduced because of his help. What a blessing! And thanks for a great video. I can't wait to continue following you.

This was SOOO interesting. I make videos too on my channel using iphone 8 (yeah i know). I edit on quicktime. (yeah i know). Still learning how to create thumbnail. My 3 minute videos takes me hours with editing and lots of setups with lights and camera stand, etc. I just loved seeing how you do your videos since I enjoy them so much. It's a real job.

Another channel I follow has also talked about the "behind the scenes" process of creating videos, but I must say yours is the most comprehensive one I have ever seen! YT drives me crazy with their ad placement. I don't think they watch the videos, or even a minute before or after where they insert an ad because sometimes the content creator gets interrupted mid-sentence! So frustrating. It also bugged the bejeesus out of me when they would insert an hour infomercial into a 10 minute video! So, yes, I subscribed to Prime and I no longer have to deal with the ads. I think that is their plan/business model and it works! I also enjoy listening to my music compilations without the "we paused the video, are you still there" interruptions. So, thank you for this look at the life of a content creator, it was very interesting. I hope your future plans (after the sale of "Craving the Curls") will include creating more videos of your family - both human and furry! 🥰😻🐶💖

Thanks SO MUCH !! I wished this all looked fairly simple. I lost my wonderful husband 11 years ago. He was SUCH a great guy. I still was able to hold onto our house here in San Diego, which thank God for insurance money ~ I was able to pay off. I am a landscape designer for 20 years now~ I only work weekends. I turned 69 and holding lol 😆 last Spring. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to be a creator to bring in more money. I follow a few 50/60 plus older beauty creators, but I LOVE dogs like you and I love to laugh like you~ your personality is wonderful you have such charm. I would LOVE to make a couple videos a week and incorporate my 10 month old handsome white Labrador Mr.Moon!!! Im a nice, kind, lol, nice to look at~ people tell me lol. I want to learn how to make videos so much~ just worried that it looks so complicated. I have the time though~ its a great time in my life to do this. Renee, wish so much we were neighbors~ you'd LOVE San Diego weather with your love of your pool, the sun, closer to Mexico lol!!! Yes though~ so expensive in California. All your video efforts are enjoyable, keep them coming! I am about to be a new dog owner... how do you ensure the boys get good nutrition? What foods and treats, do/don't...do you give them oils/fish oils/omega 3? I don't simply want to blindly pay for expensive product so learning from your experience would be priceless.

Hi Renee! I didn't get to watch this morning because I had tests done at the hospital since I have covid pneumonia and a few things were concerning. So at 10pm I finally got my Hayden fix. I knew it was going to be at least 3 hours but wow! You do all that for us and we thank you! I work in Photoshop a good bit with my still pics and I get lost with the time also. Great insight you have is today. Btw I didn't see your Happy light. I've been using mine every day. Don't know if it is doing anything for me or not but I'm soldiering on with it. 🐕‍🦺 🐕
